A little background first: I have been doing Crossfit for about 9 months now. We have what are called "Workouts of the Day" or WODs. Many are named after females and some are "Hero WODs". Hero WODs are named after military, law enforcement, etc people who were Crossfitters and died in the line of duty (many of them are military members who have died fighting in Iraq or Afghanistan). The Hero WODs are significantly harder than most other WODs.
One of the hardest ones endurance-wise is called "Murph". In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005. This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it 'Body Armor.' From here on it will be referred to as 'Murph' in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.
The "Murph" workout is: 1 mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, 1 mile run. This can be a really long workout... a good time to complete "Murph" in is under 50 minutes. To give you an idea of of where DH was at the past times he's done it - he never completed it in under an hour. For me, I have done it under an hour but I did the pull-ups with a resistance band to help me through it and did some/half of the push-ups on my knees.
Well today DH and I did "Murph" and we DOMINATED it! A. It was raining outside while we ran. B. I did all 100 pull-ups on my own, without any bands. C. I did all 200 sit-ups regular, not on my knees. AND we rocked the time: DH - 36:09, Me - 36:53. WOOO HOOO! I just had to post it somewhere... .cause not only was this awesome to do and do well, but I really think this will push me past the slump I've been in. I've been so tired and stressed with work-related issues that I haven't been motivated to workout (thankfully DH has made me go on the weekends and being in the military I have to go three times during the week). So anyways... done with my AW.
Hope you ladies all had a good week. I know Alix was doing the weekly check in but I figured I'd do it for this week. What are your fitness goals? What have you been doing to achieve them? How was your week fitness/workout wise?

Huksy - I don't remember who all I met when I went to Crossfit Oahu (except Cheryl) but all the people there were super nice - very welcoming and super motivating. One guy was cheering DH and I on yelling "Go Ramstein!" (that's the Crossfit Affliliate and military base we are at). I can't wait to go back. Congrats to Erik!! That's exciting stuff... hope he kicks b.u.t.t. in California!
