work related help- mtg locations in central ny?
so i'm in charge of planning our june sales meeting and i need some central NY help- like where to go?
with salesmen all over the state and VT my dept manager likes to have the meeting central to everyone, so no one gets stuck with the long drive. that usually means Syracuse- been there done that... over and over we need something new.
i've already mentioned Lake Placid- too expensive- i was told... however i will look into that. and Turning Stone is a no-go per the P & VP of the co.
and salesmen love love love golf so that's kinda a must-have.
any ideas??

Re: work related help- mtg locations in central ny?
That is too bad Turning Stone is a no-go. It is SO much more than just a casino!! And the Golf courses are, supposedly, outstanding! Skaneateles is a very nice place and somewhat central to the state. There aren't any big hotels there though. There is also Utica which is just about 20 minutes from Turning Stone for golf.
What part of Syracuse have you done in the past? Maybe a different area?
What about Cooperstown? Is that too far out of the way? The Otesaga is beautiful! and they have an amazing golf course there - but that might be pricey, as well.
But definitely worth looking into.
How many people are you planning the meeting for?
thanks for the replies!
we've had meetings (two that i've gone to) at the embassy suites- right off the thruway. there was a meeting last summer (while i was on maternity leave) at some other hotes in the syracuse area that wasn't a hit with the boss.
cooperstown is a good suggestion- i hadn't though of that
i have no details as far as dates or who is attending, our last meeting was approx 25-30 people over a day and a half.
okay another option - what about looking into the new banquet space at the Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse for the meetings? There are to rooms there, and I think that they have projection capabilities. Plus then you get to eat yummy Dino!
Also - you can look at the Red Mill Inn in Baldwinsville - its right on the Seneca River, and I had my wedding reception there - its super cheap to rent that place out, and its very quaint, and near a really nice golf course: the Radisson
