XP AW LIP: Sasha kinda sorta saying her name
So I know I'm being a total AW, but this just makes me smile. Sasha attempted to say her name today, completely out of nowhere! She's been on a kick lately with a bunch of new words and I'm just laughing at her most of the time.

Has he lived here for a while? My DH has moved to the States when he was 5, so it's a lot harder for him than for me to speak only Russian at home. How old is your niece? It may still not be too late! I read that the best way to teach a kid a second language is to have one parent speak one language and another parent another.

Sis's hubby came to the states when he was about 8 years old (which was 32 years ago). =/ He definitely doesn't have a hard time speaking it 'cause his 'rents mostly speak to him in Russian. My niece is 9 now, so I don't know how easy it will be at this point.
Yeah, I honestly don't get why you wouldn't want to teach your kid your native language. But if she ever does want to learn it, he can definitely be of great help!
