Best Retaurant in Boston?
Looking for anything other than Asian, price is no object. We're staying near Boston Common, but have a car or can taxi. It's a very special occasion so romantic would be nice, but good food takes precendent. TIA!

Re: Best Retaurant in Boston?
ITA! I also LOOOOOVE Bistro du Midi right next to the Four Seasons on Boylston St. The upstairs is super romantic and the food is amazing! It's southern french cuisine. And it has a beautiful view of the Public Garden.
No. 9 Park is wonderful. The prune-stuffed gnocchi appetizer is amazing (right, Buckeye?
). Mistral is good too, though I prefer No. 9.
Salts in Cambridge is also excellent, particularly the honey lavendar whole roasted duck for two, which you need to request in advance. The atmosphere is small and romantic without being at all stuffy.
Catch in Winchester is another favorite, with an atmosphere similar to Salts.
Enjoy, we have some great food here!
Hey I think Catch is closed. I read they were closing it to open a new restaurant in that location....and then moving Catch to somewhere else??? I could be wrong about that though.
Oh no, you're totally right! I had no idea but just checked on their website. It doesn't seem definite that they'll reopen elsewhere; I really hope they do, I really liked that place!
ETA: Hmm, upon reading closer it looks like the same chef is still there and that maybe they just changed the name of the restaurant? Strange.
Love No. 9 Park, love the gnocchi! DH was a big fan of the venison (it wasn't gamey at all). Everything I've had there is fantastic!
I love Tresca too. But maybe I'm partial because I love Ray Bourque
