achy joints

Any recommendations on something to take for achy joints...not sure what it is about today but both my ankles and my right hip and knee are absolutely killing me.  I have problems every now but today is awful.  I guess I should probably start a glucosamine/chondrotin supplement or just a muti-vitamin would be good maybe.

  • I was going to say try the glucosamine.  I know it's not a quick fix but it's something that'll help you in the future.

This or fish/flax seed oil.. I can't remember which one of those may be beneficial.

For a quicker "fix", you could take an anti-inflammatory (NSAID) like ibuprofen (Advil).

  • For a quick fix ibuprophen. Long term I am not sure. That is my big issue that I am waiting for results on. He did say I need to start calcium supplement and that I should start taking some vitamin D as well.
  • Glucosamine (sp) is something you should be taking.  If you take a pill it'll take about a month to get into your system.  The drinks (Joint Juice, etc.) will work a bit faster.  Anti-inflammatories will help in the short term, but make sure you take it with food.  My doc prescribes 600 mg of naproxen sodium (aleve) 2x/day when I'm having inflammation issues.
Damn you Nest for screwing up my siggy!
