** house dust! **
(DH and I were talking recently about if we wanted to buy direct from a builder (aka, brand new home) or buy a "new-to-us" old house. Your horror stories are making me lean significantly towards builder...)
Thanks, all. I finally heard from my realtor about it.
He said
Not time to freak out yet. I suggest we wait to find out what the appraiser comes up with. I had a previous conversation with her back on March 19 prior to the issue coming from the underwriter about using comps form a different school district. At that time she was unwilling to reconsider. Now she will have come back to [same township] for comps. It is quite possible she will find that [same township] comps are at a higher price and that will negate the issues now being raised by the bank. Therefore don?t start worrying until we get the revised appraisal.
