Re: Poll: Vegas Recs?!
I have wanted to go but it just has never worked out to do so.
I don't think I could ever justify flying from here to Vegas. When my dad and I did it, I was still living in Indiana and we came out this way to look at colleges. We basically flew in, picked up a rental car, visited some schools, then flew onto LA.
1) Where do you usually stay? I've stayed at Treasure Island, the Mirage and some place on Fremont. The cheapest place was on Fremont. It was clean and the area was a lot of fun.
2) Where do you usually gamble? I don't really gamble much.
3) What gambling do you like to do? Craps or single-deck blackjack.
4) What non-gambling activities do you like to do? LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Cirque shows! Also enjoy visiting the hotel spa.
5) What is your favorite hotel to tour? The Wynn is pretty and was new the last time I was there. They have an amazing Sunday buffet brunch. I like the shops at Caesar's.
6) Why (Re #6)? See above :-)
7) What kid-friendly places do you enjoy (ages 12, 10 and 7) Hoover Dam, Valley of Fire
8) Do you have frugal / cheap things you do there? I love the Bellagio water show and that's free. Do you know anyone who is a Nevada resident? They can get show tickets at a super-deep discount. W indow shopping at Caesar's
THANKS!!!
I just remembered! I've stayed at the Flamingo and they have a little (tiny) zoo there. Not sure if the tigers are still at the Mirage or not but they're kinda cool as is the volcano out front. Also there's the free pirate show at TI.
1) Where do you usually stay? We have stayed at MGM, Treasure Island, NY NY, Excalibur, Circus Circus, The Stratosphere, Mandalay Bay. We are going on Sunday and staying at NY NY again.
2) Where do you usually gamble? We play a little all over. When Planet Hollywood was The Aladdin I had pretty good luck there.
3) What gambling do you like to do? Blackjack and Pai Gow, last time I was there I played Texas Hold'em and faired pretty well.
4) What non-gambling activities do you like to do? Walk the Strip, visit the M&M store, Caeser's shops, Eiffel Tower at the Paris, We saw Love last time we were there and it was excellent, The Secret Gardens at Mirage have the Tigers and Dolphins.
5) What is your favorite hotel to tour? I like going to them all to at least check them out
6) Why (Re #6)?
7) What kid-friendly places do you enjoy (ages 12, 10 and 7) Eiffel Tower, Secret Gardens at the Mirage, Madam Tousseuds at the Venetian (I think), The pool at MGM is really nice.
8) Do you have frugal / cheap things you do there? Madam Tousseuds had a 2 for 1 deal, just walking the strip, water show at the Bellagio, Show at Treasure Island, Erupting Volcano at the Mirage, they also have that cheap tickets place that you can get day of tickets to shows that are really cheap. That is how I got our Love tickets. There is one next to the Coca Cola store.
Ooh I didn't even think of Madam Tousseuds... that could be fun! We'll definitely be hitting the free street shows- and I was thinking about the 50% ticket place... I didn't know about the Secret Gardens either.... the things you learn!
Thank you ladies!
