Poll: Alarm
As I set my alarm last night to return to work today, I considered changing it up. It didn't take but it made me curious. How do you wake up in the morning? I think it's funny how so many people are so different about this kind of thing. D swears by setting his clock 30 minutes fast and then snoozing for 30 minutes. What's the damn difference? Anyway....

How many times do you hit snooze? once or twice, but we just rearranged the bedroom and I had reset the alarm so I can't hit snooze.
and I do not wake up all sunny, happy bright, either... although neither of us sleep in on wkends... even if we try.

Do you and hubs both have clocks and alarms or do you wake up together? there's only one alarm clock. it's on DH's side of the bed. the clock enables you to set multiple alarm settings, so he has one for me (5) and one for him (7:15)

How many times do you hit snooze? none, I don't really understand the point of a snooze button (for regular use, I get it if there's a day when you really just need it)...DH uses it multiple times everyday. I don't get it. If you know you're not going to get up until 7:45 or 8, why set the alarm for 7:15 just to know you're going to have to hit snooze 5 times?

It beeps. It starts off quiet then progressively gets louder each 2 beeps.

M has 2 alarm clock because he's paranoid he someday may not hear the one we both use. The one that's for both of us enables you to set 2 alarm settings, for him (3:30am though he stays in bed until 4am) and myself (6:45am, but I don't get up until 7:15 cause I'm lazy). I would love to crack his personal one off the wall or better yet his head though, it's a Big Ben. For those who may not know what that is, think of back in the day, or an old movie when the alarm is loud as fvck and goes RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING. I almost sh!t my pants the first morning it went off and then I lost it on him. Lucky for him, and his Big Ben he has been waking up before it goes off.

Next to the bed on the night stand that is on his side of the bed. This is a very bad thing for the both of us.

I used to only hit it once (it's 9 minutes), then went up to 2, now I'm up to 3 and I get up way later than I should because, well let's face it, clearly I'm lazy and not a morning person.

How many times do you hit snooze?NO, the 10 minute snooze isnt enough, and my alarm will deduct a mintue each time you press. I have even gone as far as resetting it for 15 minutes later.

? Um, no. I actually love being awake early in the day, but I hate waking up.

Is your alarm next to the bed or do you have it across the room to make you get up? My phone is next to my bed on my nightstand, DH's alarm clock is on the other side of the room so that he has to get up to turn it off (or hit snooze 3 times).
How many times do you hit snooze? It used to be never, but lately it's been at least 1 or 2 times. It's been hard getting up on the first ring, so I need 10-20 minutes (2 snoozes) to tell myself that I need to start getting up.
**I have no problem waking up at 7am on any day that I DON'T work, in fact I love getting up early on my days off and am a total morning person, but on workdays- I NEVER want to get up!**
Does your alarm beep or buzz or is it music? Mine beeps faintly and then gets louder the longer it goes off. I used to be a music alarm person and may switch back. I haven't decided because I like the low quiet beep and it never gets very loud before I wake up since I am a light sleeper.

Not to mention, I would kill him if I had to wake him up every day. He is a snooze till ya lose type and it drives me batty. Not to mention, his alarm is a blaring loud vibrating marriage ruiner. We have one alarm clock, but it has 2 alarm settings so you can always set 2 different alarms, but one is beep and one is music. It also lets you choose days, so my alarm is never touched bc it's set M-F for 7:08 (and DH has our clock like 20 minutes early... so it's really 6:52).

How many times do you hit snooze? It depends on how rested I am. The most I ever snooze is 3 times and I am late for work every single time I do it... Lots of the times I don't snooze at all though.

We both have alarm clocks and we have the kitty cat alarm (i.e. the cats rattling the bedroom door to lets us know that they want their morning snuggle or they want out on the porch. Unfortunately their internal clocks are not so reliable). DH's alarm goes off at 6:30 ish. Then he asks me to turn the news on. And he wants to cuddle me or talk for about 30 minutes. (I want to be left alone, and one would think after 1 1/2 years of marriage he'd have figured this out by now...) I don't get up until 7:45ish. Fortunately I can sleep with the tv on, the lights on and him making all kinds of godawful noise. TBH, I like it best when he goes to work early, b/c he is much more courteous about noise those mornings.

Next to the bed. At one point is was across the room b/c I learned to turn it off in my sleep and almost slept through a final exam in college.

HA! I can sleep till 9 or 10 if left to my own devices. Unless I am away from home, and then I'll be up bright and early. I'm sleeping in while I can b/c I'm sure that the baby won't be letting me sleep in!

I had a roommate that had such a good internal clock that she could tell herself what time to wake up and it always worked!
