Anniversary ideas?

I am normally full of ideas but this year I have been so busy I haven't even been able to think! Our 2nd anniversary is the 18th and my birthday is the 16th so last year we went oot, this year that isn't an option because we are having family over on the 17th. So... what can I do to make it still seem special? I am sure we will grab dinner at a nice place but beyond that I am seriously at a loss! I don't even have the slightest idea of what I am getting him and he's not dropping any hints.

Re: Anniversary ideas?

  • As far as gifts, 2nd anniversary is cotton.  Some suggestions: socks or other cotton clothing, cotton bath towels (or beach towels if you go somewhere beachy though I guess that's out this year), cotton sheets, cotton hammock.

For things to do, if you really want to go out of town, you could celebrate your anniversary a diff weekend.  We did that last year and are doing it again this year because it was cheaper this way :D.

  • For our first anniversary we had a local caterer cater dinner for the two of us at home. My mom set up our kitchen table like it was at the wedding whiel DH and I had a couple message. The cooked stuffed chicken marsala which has been a meal that DH has really perfected over the past year (altho the chef's was better Wink) It was just really nice to not have to go anywhere and have the chef come to us. Plus we both could drink as much wine at dinner as we wanted, haha.

The cost wasn't any more than a nice dinner out and the chef even cleaned everything up including hand washing our good china! The chef we used was Troy from Troy's Cafe and Catering.

Some other ideas for stuff to do would be to take in some of the museums downtown or get a message together. You could also just celebrate another weekend like the pp mentioned and go out of town.

  • How about tickets to something? A concert, play, exhibit.  The History of Invulnerability, about the creator of Superman looks pretty good.  That and dinner would be a great night out, if he'd be into that.

A friend of mine just gifted her hubby box seats to a future Reds game with a Reds tshirt. It's one of those tickets that includes buffet and drinks. the tshirt would also cover your cotton.  GL!

  • No advice, but wanted to wish you a happy birthday & anniversary.  My BD is the 18th.  Yay for Aries girls!

  • Give yourselves a mini-spa and a week off.

Splurge on having a cleaning service come do the house for the week so it'll be all set for the company and you don't have to stress. Then book a couples massage before dinner out.
