Concord Mills this Sat evening?

Am I asking for trouble?  In my "easter plans" post, I mentioned that I have to go pick up my cousin that lives/works down in Salisbury.  I was thinking of going down a little early to get some new shoes (I only shop at the hippest places--Wide Shoe WarehouseWink) that is right by Concord Mills.  That store closes at 6pm--do you think heading to the mall after wards is just asking for trouble--meaning large crowds, no parking, etc?

I would also love a place for dinner.  I'm in the mood for Chinese--DH doesn't eat it, so I usually eat it by myself--any good recs?  I'm not usually a food court kind of eater, fyi and I've got plenty of time to kill... so if its anywhere near the mall, I don't mind "exploring" a bit.  Doesn't even need to be fancy--good take-out is fine.  Cousin probably won't get off from work until 9pm.

Re: Concord Mills this Sat evening?

  • I live right next to Concord Mills- It is always crowded from Friday- Sunday- no matter what

Parking is insane and its always packed inside...

However it wouldn't stop me from going... I am not easily bothered

  • Tsnami across the other side of 85 is good.. its Japense though not Chinese. It has a sushi bar, and other entrees in the front, and in the back is Hibachi  its close to Bjs and garden ridge

Directly across from the Mills between Good year and the car wash there are two new restaurants in the strip mall- one is japenese and the other is something maybe Indian- I can't think of any chinese right around there!

  • As PP said, there are a couple of Japanese places around - Tsunami (across 85, near BJs) and the one near Spice 9 Indian. As for Chinese, the best place is called eNoodles and its a couple of exits up 85 from Concord Mills. Take 85 N and take the exit after Poplar Tent (I drive it regularly and can't tell you the name), turn right off the exit and you'll see Exchange St. on your right. eNoodles is in a corner spot in the brick building.

Tracey--I'm right there with you.  I know landmarks, not road/highway exits.  In fact, DH laughs at me because I never get lost and always have the most efficient ways of getting places, yet if asked to give someone else directions I'm stumped because I might only know the names of 1-2 actual roads on any given route.  :)

But thanks for your suggestions guys!  I appreciate it very much.  Hey, and if any of you are bored.....I'd love a meet-up!

That would be the George Liles Parkway exit, which is 54  :)  I live right off exit 52 so I pass by these exits all the time

  • derky, I think I've been abandoned by DH on Saturday, I live right by Concord Mills, and DH gets tired of my love for Asian food, so I don't eat it enough. Just saying ...

Wait....so are you saying that you might be willing to share a few moments of your awesomeness with me?  Holy crap!  I don't know if I'm ready for it.....

I'll defer to your preference then.  Where do you think would be the best place to go for some tasty Chinese?  Truthfully, I think i could probably go Japanese as well--I have very simple tastes, I can get by on rice and some marinated chicken something-something.  So if you have a favorite spot, I'm game to meet you!  Maybe send a PM to set some details??)

  • Um, YES!

I don't really have a favorite spot that's close to Concord Mills (anyone reading near here - it's Fusion Bowl or something like that in Mooresville), but I've been meaning to try that eNoodles place. It's easy to get to from Concord Mills but far enough away that the traffic from the mall won't mesh with it.

    Wooty woot woot!

I'm going to pm you my e-mail address.
