Ugh...I just want it to start all over again.
Monday night, while making dinner, I tripped in the kitchen and nearly dropped all of the main dish. My dog was probably hoping I did for her personal dining pleasure, but UGH...I am SUCH a klutz.
Tuesday, I got my speeding first ticket EVER. My road rage got the best of me when I tried passing a truck that was p!ssing me off, and right there, hidden, a BR cop. I am SO SO bummed about this, because I've never gotten one and I just have no idea what to do/how much insurance jacks up/etc.
I just hope today is way calmer.
I want my life to give me a little break today.
::pity party over::
Re: Ahh crap...this week sucks (VENT)
I don't think insurance usually jacks up for one ticket. Unfortunately, I always seem to get them in two's!!
I hope you have a better day today though! I think you should do something nice for yourself this evening (make your favorite food, get takeout, etc).
Sorry you're having such a bad week. Hopefully it gets better soon.
I got my first and only speeding ticket 2 years ago. My insurance never increased so I don't think you'll have to worry about that. If you were on #10 you might need to be worried

How do you do that? Do you give some sort of excuse or something? I'm scared of going to court lol

On the ticket there is a court date, he would go in on that court date and you wait in court for a little while, and talk to the prosecutor. He just asks flat out if he can either go to driving school or move it to a non-moving violation. It works about 90% of the time. The only time it doesn't work is when he gets a speeding ticket in a small town (b/c small towns get a lot of money from speeding fines).
I'm out of lurking again. One day I will join this board!
Sometimes, if you just call the number on the ticket, they will explain what you need to do to make it not go on your record and you don't have to go to the court date. You will just need to register for the class, attend the class, and take the ticket and your certificate to the court house and they take care of it.
I've done the thing where you go to court and ask to pay a reduced fine. I didn't have a reason at all, and they agreed right away. It was way easier than I expected. Just a PITA to go waste a morning in court.
I wish I had known you can call and make the request. It's certainly worth a try.
Sorry you're having a crappy day Joey - hope it gets better.
I never knew there were so many options on the speeding ticket thing! I've never actually had one but DH got one last year and we just paid it and moved on. Wish I had know this back then!
