I was just reading on another board how someone still has their wedding website up after 4 years of marriage and that they supposed that was strange. This doesn't really strike me as odd, especially since if you bought a custom domain name you might want to hang on to it (I'm not sure how it works with the freebie sites - do they expire a certain amount of time after the wedding?). I let ours lapse, but only because I wasn't really crazy about the domain we ended up using.
P.S. After 4 posts in a row, I just realized that Sandra was right and I AM a big ole postwhore.

Re: poll: wedding websites
I just never took mine down. I didn't pay for a site (I am SOOO not technology savvy enough to have actually created my own site) and I don't know if the free ones have an expiration. I figure it will disappear on its own one day.
However, I did start a website on another free site but didn't like something about it which is why I created my actual wedding website on a different site. When I googled my name (which I do time to time because of security reasons - and curiousity) that page came up. I couldn't figure out how to delete it so I just changed the name of the bride and groom to the most ridiculous names I could think of (i.e. bride was something like Bon Qui Qui Koolaidandrea... or something similar).
LOL this is awesome...maybe I should have done this with ours and just changed my name on the site to Princess Chiquita Bananahammock or something.
Only if she's marrying Crap Bag!
Our wedding site was up for a year after our wedding date, and then they sent us a CD with the site on it so that if we ever wanted to look at it again, we could, without keeping it on the interwebs for all eternity.
This is funny. The only one we had was the one I made on the knot, and it's still up there! LOL
Oops, just found on TK one that I had another one, which has apparently been recycled to another couple who got married in 08 (we were married in 06). This is too funny!
haha
but you know we love you for it! it was a little lonely here without you
hi hi hi
honestly, i don't know if mine is still up. i would imagine so 'cause i never bothered to take it down. hahahah
hawaii 10.2008 plan ;P married bio ???
This! I haven't checked our website since the wedding. I made ours on a free site and I never bothered to take it down either. I can't even remember what the URL was anymore to check if it's still up or not!
