Switching insurance Companies

Insurance on one of our cars is up for renewal and we are thinking of switching companies. The other car is not up for renewal until November. Is there some sort of penalty if we renew it now with the new company along with our other car? How does this work?

Re: Switching insurance Companies

  • I'm not sure about getting out of the contract on the one car... what we did was when my car was up we moved it over to DHs insurance company (this is where we put all the house insurance too).

  • I think you have to pay a penalty (potentially even what is left on the contract). It should be in your contract.
