Have any of you guys had sinus surgery? I just got back from the ENT and after my CT scan, that's the route we're going. I've been on 4 antibiotics since December and still have constant problems so now I'm just waiting for them to call me and schedule it.
My dr is doing the new balloon sinuplasty procedure that is minimally invasive so you can return to normal activities within 24 hours, which is much nicer than the down time and sinus packing of the old surgery! He'll be irrigating too, because he's seeing a lot of congestion in one sinus cavity on the CT scan that he thinks may be fungal.
Anyway...if any of you have had sinus surgery...did it help a lot?
Re: Sinus Surgery?
Had his sinuses taken out? LOL I think you may have misread my post
HAHA I am always asking my husband if this is possible with all of the pain I've had!!!
Anyway I just commented on your status on FB! You'll have to let us/me know how it goes.
My issues aren't severe enough to warrant surgery, even though they're really bad sometimes. I would love to get it done, but my husband also hadn't heard about it and he said he would want me to wait until it's been available longer to see if it has any long-term effects.
Good luck and keep us posted!
Yes his sinuses. He also had his tonsils out at the same time. He had his packed though.
You can't have your sinuses taken out, unfortunately! Haha! He may have had windows put into his sinuses or had his adenoids removed, but there's no way they removed his sinuses!
Glad you're getting this done. Finally some relief!! I've never really had sinus issues, but I did have complications with my sinuses when I had my jaw wired shut and again when I had my nose done. My sinuses ruptured both times and I had to have my nostrils packed. Out of everything I've had done, that was by FAR the worst pain I've experienced in my life. The second time, I cried in anticipation. You not having to have them packed is freaking awesome!!
When is surgery?
I have never had it done, and can't think of anyone who has.
I hope it all goes good for you though!

I know! I've heard the packing is absolutely miserable. Apparently there is very minimal bleeding with this method and it's fairly painless. They haven't set a date yet, but I should get a call in the next day or two to schedule it. I'm really hoping I can have it done prior to my vacation in May.
