Crocs but not "Crocs"

I know, we just talked about them being a fashion sin but I'm considering getting a pair because of my stupid back. I've looked at a few of their "flats" (like these: http://www.crocs.com/crocs-malindi/10127,default,pd.html?cid=255&cgid=women-footwear-flats) that don't seem so terrible, but I'm not convinced that they're as comfortable as they claim to be. Anyone have any experience with them?

Re: Crocs but not "Crocs"

  • I have a pair of the regular crocs and they are comfortable! It's like walking on squishy rubber. It's kinda bouncy. I love mine. Hope you like yours!!
  • I was just looking at these the other day.  I am considering them as well for the same reason. Stupid backs.  If I hear of anything I will let you know. I may head out to shoe station today, I have a coupon.

I've been considering these too... Lily and Alice

Yep, considering those of those. And the one that are kind of sneakery like these:

I feel like I need the strap over my foot otherwise I unconsciously arch my foot to keep the shoe on.

  • And I don't hate these:

ETA: My strap across the foot rule is usually thrown out if the strap in the back is higher than it normally is on flats. For some reason, that makes them stay on better.

  • I own Crocs, as well as a pair of their flats, that I got on our honeymoon.  I think they are comfy, despite the fact that they're ugly, I like them, especially when I just want to lounge in the yard.  The flats I have are these, Mary janes:

  • FYI: The PT I work with says Crocs are not good for bad backs.  Comfy, yes, but not as supportive as they could be.  She recommends Danskos.  More expensive but they last FOREVER and I walk miles around work in mine everyday without feeling any pain in my problem areas (knees, mostly)

Ooo, thanks for the recommendation. I'll check zappos.

  • Once I moved to SC, I got a pair pf crocs. They're great. They are comfy and I've never had any problems with my back when wearing them, just the normal sh!t with it.

  • I know the crocs are supposed to be squishy and comfy...but I just look at them and think back to my stinky sweaty slimy smelly jelly shoes from the 80's.

These new mary jane-like versions are way cuter than the originals...which, to me, look like they're something you'd buy at IKEA for gardening.

Good luck finding something good for your back!

  • I am not crazy about crocs- I always felt like my feet were "swimming" in them and tripped a lot.
A lot of health care workers wear Danskos and swear by them.  I wear Klogs to work- I have 3 pairs and I swear to you they are so comfy I will NEVER wear sneakers to work again.  They are on the ugly side, but my feet/back rarely give me problems and I usually only wear them to work.  I did wear them on thanksgiving when I was in the kitchen and on my feet all day.

  • I don't have any experience with Crocs.  But, my friend is a pastry chef and on her feet alllllll day.  She wears Danskos I believe and loves them.  She also has a lot of back problems, and was concerned when she entered this field because of the potential to re-irritate her back, but has had no problems since wearing these shoes.  GL!  I hope you find something that works well for you!

  • I have the ballet slipper crocs and love them.  i only wear them to do gardening and such but they are truly comfy and i throw them in the sink or dishwasher (with garden tools) to clean them.
