Ok ladies, I am trying to plan our meals out for the next two weeks and now that its warm (finally!!) we are wanting to break in our new grill. So I need some great grill recipes and/or great sides to go with 'em. We are doing burgers this weekend (DH wants to do something easy first to get the "feel" of the grill, his words not mine)...but after burgers I am out. TIA!!!
Re: Recipe help
Do you like Salmon? I have a great marinade for salmon (I've actually used it for chicken and beef a few times) I can send later this weekend if you're interested!
For sides... my favorite is brushing sliced veggies with olive oil and basalmic vinegar, sprinkling with fresh or dried herbs, and throwing them directly on the grill or in a foil envelope too cook... yummy.
MY BLOG!
I tried this marinade last week on the stove top and it was the best ever!!!

I cant wait to try it on the grill:)
I don't know if corn is in season yet, but we usually butter our corn, sprinkle it with garlic salt, wrap it in foil and throw it on the grill. Super easy. No clean up!
Portabello mushrooms marinated in red wine and balsamic vinegar are always good. We do a lot of kabobs here too... with chicken, steak, or shrimp as the meats and then potatoes, peppers, onions, and mushrooms as the veggies.
A friend of mine had a party where everyone made their own "hobos" (her name for them, not mine). Basically it has a meat (cut up chicken, ground beef, etc), sauce, and veggies wrapped up in foil and thrown on the grill.
Have fun and happy grilling!
I always make this pasta salad as a side whenever we grill chicken with a tangy garlic marinade...it's SO good.

We *just* had grilled asparagus this week and I was in heaven. I tossed it with olive oil, salt and pepper, and hubby threw them on for a few. They were sooo good. A couple of my FB friends suggested sesame oil and seeds or garlic salt as another couple options.
If you have time to spare, grilled brisket is to die for. I'm also a fan of beer brats.
Steven Raichlen is a cookbook author who just does grilled food. He's really great at explaining the "how" and "why" of how to cook on the grill. He's got a number of cookbooks out, including the BBQ bible which is really a massive book but really informative. I'd give it two thumbs up for good ideas and easy techniques.
Do you like flavored pork tenderloin? The pre-packaged ones are great on the grill. Just cut a piece big enough for whoever's eating it and put the whole piece on the grill (not directly on top of the flames). Let it sit in the heat for a while, flip it, and keep an eye on it. When the outside starts getting a little dark cut it and see if the inside is done. For ours I usually turn on one side of the burners and set the pork on the other (not lit) side. It might take about an hour. The peppercorn ones are really good.
You MUST make this salad as a side:

DH and I made it a few weeks ago and we absolutely loved it. We made it again to take to a BBQ this weekend and it was gone SO fast. It's super easy and really healthy.
