How was everyone's weekend?

Did everyone have a good Easter weekend?

The weather here was freakin' sweet ALL weekend so most of it was spent outside.

Friday M had to work because Good Friday is not a holiday for him, so I took our niece for the day so her Dad could run some errands, I also went and bought her some summer clothes because the poor thing was sweating her butt off because they only had winter clothes that fit her, then M suprised me by asking his sister and her FI if we could take her overnight.

Saturday M and I took a ride up to the place he's renting a room to celebrate with the guys from work once they finish this boat (he's doing this for them because they've put so much hard work in for him), then he took me up to the Adidas outlet and got me 2 pairs of sneakers and a tank top and a pair of capris and new socks. Then went to the Longhorn for lunch.  Then we took J to the park to ride her new tricycle that we bought her for Christmas.  She was sketchy at first but then didn't want to get off it.  We were out ALL day so needless to say we were all pretty tired by the time we got home.

Yesterday for Easter we spent the day outside, but ate our Easter meal with the IL's.  It actually went suprisingly well.  We were outside from about 10 in the morning until 8 at night, the sun beat us up pretty good so we were exhausted by night, but I forced myself to stay up to watch the whole Red Sox opener!  GO SOX!!!!

Re: How was everyone's weekend?

  • Pretty uneventful.  We were supposed to go to brunch with my parents, but it never ended up happening---DH is suffering from really bad allergies, so he wasn't feeling up to doing anything.  I'm feeling really....blah, like I'm hungover or something, and have been for the past few days.  Needless to say I spent most of my weekend on the couch watching tv.  I did get together with friends on Friday though, so that was nice. Got to see one of my close friends that I haven't seen in a few months, and her little girl.  It's so hard to not say anything to anyone.  Hmmm, what else, oh, DH got me pizza.  Twice.  Embarrassed Sigh, it's one of the only things that sounds edible to me right now.

  • Nice wkend-lots o driving!

Fri-Sat-went to MIL's w the kids. Too short a time, as always, but nice! They didn't want to leave either!

Sat eve-get home and the gals in the neighborhood wanted to go out-so we did... Had a HORRIBLE waitress.  She was just ignoring us for the most part- (ok, I was with some crass, but fun gals)... After setting our check down and we waited over 45 min AND tried to get someone else to take our $, I called the place and said-um, the table of 5 by the tv would like to pay their bill now so if you could send our waitress over, that would be great.  Yeah, that got her moving.  She was stunned we (I) called. I was feeling quite ballsy at that time...

Sun-DH & I went to my mom's for Easter after church.  One of my BIL's fell asleep and was snoring so loudly we decided to video tape him. I wonder if it'll be on FB!

  • F- DH and I worked on mine and a buddy of his's cars. Stayed up way too late.

S- Slept late(YAY) Ran some errands, Got to ride my horse, Daddy came over and put shoes on him.

Easter- DH's b-day,Church(the kids did a Easter Program, very cute), Got to feeling bad and slept for about 2 1/2 hours while DH worked on his car and put the part I got him for his b-day on his car. Then I took him out for his b-day, I told him to pick anywhere he wanted to eat, he picked Pizza Hut lol he's a cheap date.

  • Friday - We left Pittsburgh around noon and drove out to the Jeepn' spot (Rausch creek).  It's about a 4 hour drive but with traffic and pit stops it took us about 5.  We hung out with people there and had a few drinks before checking into the hotel for the night.

Saturday - Got up early to hit the trails.  Had a great day!  The weather was perfect!  DH put pics up on FB so I'll have to get the link.  Left around 6PM to drive back to Pittsburgh.  Got home around 10:45PM and crashed.

Sunday - Slept in and then went to my parents for dinner.  Came home early so I could prepare for work.  It's hard coming back when you've been off for a week. Stick out tongue

  • Veruca, don't worry about. It's just important you eat at this point. Plus, pizza is good for you. It has vegetable, grains, and dairy . . .

Saturday, J and I went on another food adventure. We went to Jackson Heights and got dosas. Really fantastic and the food was so much spicier than it usually is when we get Indian food in Manhattan. I'm sure it was still white people spicy, but I was still really pleased. :)

I slept terribly Friday night night so after a quick trip to the garden, I took a nap for a few hours. When I woke up, we had buffalo burgers and watched a few episodes of House until late.

Sunday, we woke up very late, went out for a walk, grabbed banh mi, and headed to a park near the East River for a little picnic. And then last night we had Easter dinner at my friend's apartment. It was a lot of fun . . . Unfortunately I couldn't sleep again last night and now I'm exhausted. Arg, I need this to stop pronto.

  • F - sold my website! Made snowball cupcakes to take home for Easter, they were a hit!

Sat - Went to MIL's. She took us out to eat (I guess the christmas fiasco was too much cooking for her in 1 year lol). Gave us a TON of candy. DH is so taking it all to work, we definitely do not need it. Watched Men Who Stare at Goats - it was soooo boring & dumb. I fell asleep.

Sun - went to my parents' for lunch with bro, sis, SIL, niece, & twin nieces. They are soooooo cute! Such good babies. Both are crawling now! DH & I went fishing for a while, then we all went to my aunt's house. Then DH & I made the trek home and it was about an hour & 15 minutes longer because there were accidents everywhere grrrr. But we made it home safely and had some relaxing time.

Sierra - Pizza Hut is always my dad's choice too lol! Must be a farm boy thing...

  • Poor V, thats a sucky feeling.  I hated my first trimester . . . and loved the third.  (Go figure.)  Just do the best you can.  Everything I ate the first few weeks of having MS was soaked in balsamic vinegar.  No joke . . . weird, but its the only thing that got me through.

Friday I went to dinner with my mom and my brother's ex.  It was nice to see his ex, but its starting to be a bit awkward.  Its one of those growing apart situations and it makes my mom really sad.

Saturday I brought Bebe over to my parents and got her dressed up for Easter Mass with my mom.  R and I aren't religious but we agreed we would expose her as much as we can so that she can make up her own mind.  She looked like a freaking angel and made it through 2 hours of the service before getting restless.

Sunday we had a nice late lunch so we could spend time together before my brother headed off to work.  R wasn't feeling well so he stayed home.  (Bummed my mom out, but oh well.)

This morning I took R to the airport . . . he will be in Boston until the end of the month.  I am home with a sick bulldog and a teething baby.  Fun fun fun!

  • Friday - Feeling good so I walked on the treadmill, mopped the kitchen floor, changed the sheets on the bed, did some laundry, had an extreme craving for a Subway tuna sub for lunch, weeded half of the front flower bed, and sat on the deck in the sun with a new book (Zeitoun by Dave Eggers)

Friday night - We hit up the newly opened Chipotle for dinner and made a quick Target trip

Saturday - Grocery shopping, hung around the house (not feeling quite as good)

Sunday - Drove to Va Beach for church and a late lunch with my parents.

I also found out this weekend that I have a new cousin!  My cousin was due April 16 (scheduled C-section due to transverse baby), but the baby decided to come early in the morning on April 2.  Mallory Cason and mom are doing well, and she looks exactly like her father!  (In a cute, girly way of course.)

  • F - I was off so I spent the day hanging with the baby and the dogs! We went shopping and I wrestled him into taking a nap for two hours. Kid did not want to nap. Then DH and I got some fabulous deep dish pizza with tomato, spinach and garlic - so yum. I pigged out then ate half a pint of ice cream. S - I went back to my hometown (hour away) for lunch with some girlfriends. It was a ton of fun but a true reminder of how "mom'd" I've become. I dragged in the diaper bag, the seat cover, the toys, and of course the baby and spent the majority of my lunch entertaining H instead of eating. Luckily he was a huge hit with the girls and he's such a frickin' sweetheart. Even when he puked sweet potato ALL OVER ME! S night - Dropped Hunter off, went to a restaurant/bar and grill to watch the Butler Game. I normally hate college bball but got REALLY into it because I have a special place in my heart for Butler. Our plan was to party the night away so we went to a few bars down on our "main street' but at 10 o'clock I was soooo tired that I begged DH to leave so we did. Sun - Picked Hunter up at Grandma's (MIL and FIL) and went to church with the ILs. Hunter had been up for 3.5 hours once church started so he was good for about 20 minutes while people were singing then he wanted a bottle and a nap. Luckily our church has a lobby with gliders so we rocked and watched the service on the TV. Was super peaceful and relaxing. Got offered a job at church randomly (a PT job so I couldnt' take it but it was a nice gesture!) Then went to bfast with the ILs. Went home, grocery shopped, played with the baby, then went back to the ILs for supper. I made ooey gooey marshmallow brownies and they are SO DELICIOUS if a tad bit undercooked. DH refuses to eat them. "Salmonella blah blah blah." Sometimes its worth the risk of food poisining ;)

  • F: I worked till 3. I love getting to use holidays as floating vacation Big Smile. When I got home DH and I played some video games together. That evening we went to a friend's house and played DDR. It was a lot of fun and a good workout. Afterward we went home and watched 30Rock (we're just starting it from netflix thru the PS3).

S: Slept in. We cleaned up the house and watched some more 30Rock. Then we headed to our friends' house. We all went to the park and had an easter egg hunt which was quite fun. Plus, I found the "special egg" which was for a giant hollow chocolate bunny which is my favorite! Then we went out to dinner. Afterward we went back to our friends' house and dyed eggs.

S: We went to mass with DH's cousin and her bf. Then we stopped at the grocery store for some last minute ingrediants. We made a big breakfast for the 4 of us plus 2 more friends. Then we all went for a walk and spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing. That evening DH and I made dinner for everyone plus 2 more friends. We watched The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly during dinner and spent the rest of the evening relaxing.

  • My weekend was pretty uneventful.  The highlight was probably watching my niece and nephew do their easter egg hunt, so freaking adorable!

Hubby and I did watch "Walk the Line" for the first time last night and it has rekindled my love for Johnny Cash. . .I love that man .

  • Saturday morning - woke up to discover that my Barbie Dream House, Fern Hollow, had sold FOR 30K LESS THAN I OFFERED, APPARENTLY ALSO FHA.  WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Shady inside deals.

We went and saw three other houses, all on cul-de-sacs.

    http://www.redfin.com/CA/Corona/1366-Soundview-Cir-92881/home/4299532
Soundview is totally move-in ready. Its a few doors down from Fern Hollow (#$%*&%^$).  I like the kitchen/great room.  We placed a strong offer.  It's an REO, so there may be some waiting.

    http://www.redfin.com/CA/Corona/2134-Berkshire-Cir-92879/home/4279703
Berkshire was huge and had some great features, but we don't really want a pool and it needed a bit of work (like the fence that you could knock over with a feather).  The master had 3 closets, one the size of a small office!  It smelled like it was old.  Not musty or anything, just off.  The comps came back high because it's a hot neighborhood, but we just didn't want the work.  We passed.

    http://www.redfin.com/CA/Corona/515-Hayes-Cir-92879/home/4467396
Hayes is probably our favorite (although Soundview is really nice).  Aside from some porno mirrors in the giant living/dining area, it's perfect.  Almost all the windows have been replaced with double pane, so it's silent.  It has 4 bedrooms, so we can have an office and a guest room (or a second baby's room).  The kitchen cabinets are upgraded.  The backyard is huge and flat (photos fail to demo this).  The closets are smallish.  It's a flip, and the guy wants more than it's worth.  We're hoping that we got in good with his onsite rep and that he'll sell it to us knowing we can sail through the deal, even though we're FHA.

Sunday was nice.  My sister's husband made yummy enchiladas and my grandmother made cherry pie.  We also saw my MIL who bought a ton of clothes and toys for Scarlett.  This child is seriously spoiled.

  • It was relaxing that's for sure.

F - P and I went out to dinner with some friends and then went to a drag show with them.  Earlier in the day we ran a few errands at my beloved target.

S - P worked, I cleaned the house, did laundry and made our Easter Dinner, I also did a little yard work and took the dog out for a walk

S - I made a big breakfast for Easter, P worked and I caught up on homework and the dog got a nice long walk.

  • F- Stayed in, watched tv.

Sa- DH went to get a haircut and he had to go into work for a little while. I mopped the kitchen and both bathrooms.  (Still need to mop the living and dining rooms) Went to try on BM dresses for my sister's wedding and get measured.  Went to BabiesRUs to do in-store registry.  Met ILs for dinner.

Su- Went to church.  Had horrible allergy response to the Easter lillies.  Came home. Took benadryl, excedrin and 2 hour nap.  Went out for dinner with DH.

  • ::comes up for air::

    Hi ladies! hugs!

lets see, Friday we went to the IL's house and had dinner. Micahs sis and her fi were in town for the weekend. Went home about 9 and got in the pjs

Saturday Ladmo woke up early and was a mad man knocking over the trash AGAIN. I kinda loafed around on saturday. That night we went to dinner with his family. Micahs mom threw a 60th bday party for his dad, so there were about 20 other people there. It was fun. Then afterwards we went back to M's parents house where we had our first real fight and it was infront of his whole family...awesome...he ignored me for a good 2 hours while we all went out to the bar together. On the way home he still wasnt talking to me. So I asked him if he wanted me to sleep on the couch (as I wasnt sure how he was feeling about me) he said no and I started bawling. It was the first time I have ever cried because of something he has said/done. He may have started crying to and apologized for how he treated me. All is good now! We talked through it.

Sunday ladmo decided that he didnt want us to sleep in, again. So up at 6am :( we were hung over and drained so we didnt make it to church with the family. We met up at IL's house around 11 and had a great brunch! We were home by 1...and felt the EARTHQUAKE...so nuts! My pool sloshed and my chandelier in my dining room was swinging so hard I thought it was gonna fall on me!

And that folks was my weekend.
