donating wedding flowers, is this possible?
Hi, ladies,
Hope you don't mind me asking sort of a wedding related question on here, but I thought I might have better luck finding an answer on this board. Did anyone donate their reception centerpieces after the wedding? Or have you heard of this being done? It would be nice to get a tax write off by donating the flowers to a non-profit place. I've read about this but I don't know what the law is exactly, if it's state specific, or where to find the info.
Any info is greatly appreciated.
Re: donating wedding flowers, is this possible?
I've heard of someone doing this, however they had purchased 10's of thousands of dollars worth of flowers. I don't know where they donated them or how they wrote them off. You may want to contact an accountant to get all the details as for writing them off. Your florist may even be able to give you information on it.
Here is info I found from goggle.

The few things I read after googling it, made it sound like you would have to be the florist. If you were a florist and did a wedding for free saying that you were promoting your business you could then write it off.
HTH!
