I received more support from you when I got my acceptance letter than I did from my mom. I told her I got in and she said "Do you really need a masters degree? I guess I should have sent P an Easter basket since you couldn't afford to get him one." And she wonders why I left home at 18....

Just tell her that yes, you do. The national accrediting/licensing board made it a requirement for all new OT's to have master's degrees to take the national exam in 2007. Almost all 50 states require you to take and pass said exam to get a license, which all employers (in states with licensing) will require for you to work. Very simple.
