Hey ladies!

I have rarely been on but I figure I could use some good girl chat. Life has been so overwhelming lately working towards graduation and job hunting (aaahhhh the "real" world). Does any one have any advice during this time on how to stay sane?

Re: Hey ladies!

  • I prefer the "lots of red wine and yoga" method :)

However, when I was working on graduating my girlfriend and I would plan a "spa day" once a month.  One time it was just face mask and painting our toes while watching a movie, and then once we did a full blown day-spa with massages, lunch, facials, manicures and all!

Congrats on getting close to graduating, by the way!  The only thing that will come close to being as excited as you are is the relief you'll feel when you sign your employment contract!

All silliness aside, just remember to breathe, eat, sleep, smile, laugh, etc.

Personally, finding my first professional job post-college was teh hardest thing I ever did. it's a lot of work to complete applications, go on interviews, find jobs.  So just remember that eventually you will find a job.  I always treated a job hunt as an adventure.  It's a time to learn about different industries and a whole world of possible jobs.

  • I LOVE that method! I've got a nice bottle of merlot waiting for me to drink it :) Thanks!
  • If you are a "biotch on a budget" like me...I like to relieve stress by hiking.  Lots of pretty mountains and trails here in Albuquerque!

Jobing, Careerbuilder, Monster, Craigslist (yep you read correctly), and USAjobs were the main job boards I used.  I also set up profiles with some of them.  They would send me emails daily with new postings in my career field!  Pretty cool.....

I actually just moved to Albuquerque 2.5 weeks ago, and was fortunate to have a job lined up.  Just be patient, it will all work out!
