Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

My CW Chronicles lol
My last day before maternity leave is th 16th. My higher ups have put off telling me who to train for the past 5 weeks or so. Finally last week they tell me to teach "bob" how to run pay for my two programs. I think you all remember "bob" he was the one i tried to train before to do the same job.. he up and told me that he wasn't doing it bc it's too hard and then i got stuck doing work that should have been his responsibility....well "bob" and maybe 4 other people know how to use our database system...1 of those people is retiring and the other is leaving this friday so that leaves 2 people who know how to work the system. So now this morning... this is how it went.. i'd just like to share bc its slightly amusing.
Me: Bob...Can I train you in running pay? (as i hand over STEP BY STEP instructions)
Bob: (clicks out of the internet) Um... I have too much to do today.. um uh... umm... i have a lot on my mind.... (i can see panic in his eyes)... uh.. yeah ok.. i guess.
Me: Ok open excel... copy and paste this from the system...
Bob: How do I do that?
I show him...
Me: Ok now you want to open up the other file we saved in excel so click on the open folder..
Bob: Wheres that? You've lost me? What do I do? How do I open it?
So we go about our business... I show him a few things.. he's getting flustered and I'm going as slow as humanly possible trying to teach him... this goes on for maybe 15 minutes and i'm only maybe 1/3 through with showing him what needs to be done.
Bob: You're going to have to tell them to find someone else to do it.. i can't do this!
So I walk away, tell my mgr and VP that i've "lost him" and that he said find someone else to do it. They both just kind of laughed it off.. HOW DO PEOPLE LIKE THAT STILL HAVE JOBS?! I watched college educated people lose their jobs in our dept several times and yet this old hag who doesnt want to learn or doesn't even know how to open a file in excel is still here.. OMG. it just makes me LOL now bc it's so ridiculous!
