Duck is fired.

Dinner for tonight went wonky.  I wanted Maudies, but Duck didnt.  So, to make time work better, I went grocery shopping on my way home because he wanted to cook tonight.  No problemo.  He says he will be home relatively early.  Totally cool.  I decide to go to the gym and get home at 7:30.  No Duck.

Text message at 8:30 "still at the office, is Maudie's ok instead?"  Well, ok fine, but if you had told me an HOUR ago, my gym was right next to a Maudie's so I could have picked up dinner and eaten by now.  9:00 text:  food's almost ready.  Of course at this time I remember its the NCAA finals.  Stupid me.  Lordy knows when he will get home with dinner.  But lets hope its sooner than later.

Low blood sugar and starving devil_ducky does not a good girlfriend make.  To think, if I had just picked up Maudies in the first place.  Remind me next year when it's the championship game to order in or pick up some microwave food.  Heck, at this point, I could have attempted to cook the original dinner (heckuva scary thought though knowing my "cooking" skills.)  It's 9:30 now and the devil is starting to rear it's ugly head, unless of course that sound is mistaken for a growling stomach.

Re: Duck is fired.

  • ME TOO.  My logical decision making skills fly out the window whenever low blood sugar is involved.  I hear ya!!
  • HA!  Whenever I get cranky, the first thing DH will ask me is 'Have you eaten?  You know how you get when you're hungry...."

Which really doesn't help my mood :)

  • I can't believe you ate dinner so late!  I would have probably passed out by then, or inhaled whatever was in the pantry.

MH knows it's in his best interest to feed me.  me w/o food = scary.

  • Oh - that is not good.  Hope you finally got some food.  And he owes you one.
  • It wasn't pretty.  Stick out tongue  He finally got home at 10 and was about 5 minutes from the wrath 'o' low blood sugar.  I hate eating that late and he swore that it wont happen again....  (until next year)  HA!  Note to self...  keep extra mw dinners on tap just in case.
