Shower favor

I know, they're not necessary....

but I'm hosting a bridal shower for my sister and am considering making a today-only impulse purchase of personalized fortune cookies.

Would you think it was weird to attend a brunch shower in an Italian steak restaurant and be given personalized fortune cookies as a favor?  What if they were tied up in a little gift box with a bow and tag?

Re: Shower favor

  • It's cute, but it would be a lot more cuter if the shower was being held at an Asian cuisine place and not Italian. :-/

  • That's what I was thinking too.  It'd be cute and be fun all tied up in a bow, but if you stop and think about it, it's random.

Perhaps I should move this affair to the Pei Wei across the street...

  • I agree, cute idea but not totally fitting. What about boxes with little Italian cookies in them or something?

OOOO! I love that idea.  We have a great Italian market/restaurant here with amazing cookies.  They have a pignoli cookie that is surprisingly amazing.

The complication is that I'm planning the shower long distance with another long distance bridesmaid, so we're both brainstorming how to make this easy on ourselves.  The fortune cookies we could order online and they arrive individually wrapped.

  • What about biscotti? You can buy those at Costco (or somewhere similar) in bulk and they all come prewrapped.

I was in charge of favors for a long distance shower. I bought lots of prewrapped goodies and then put them in little bags that I tied with ribbon the morning before. For those, I used two Tazo tea bags and a bunch of hershey kisses.

What about wine glass charms or bottle stoppers? I always think wine when I think Italian food...
