oh no he didn't

DH just ticked me off roytally. I'm ready to file the insurance claim on our rings so we can get them replaced. He was really understanding at the time, but now he's been making comments about 'we should just get CZ instead because why spend so much on something so superficial'. Then today he says I need to be 'taught to overcome my forgetfullness' and suggested that we not go on our trip to Hawaii later this year that we're thinking about (and already saving before). WTF?!? yes i totally effed up by leaving my rings in the bathroom that night, but THEY WERE STOLEN! and they're covered on insurance. that's what its there for. we aren't X amount of money in the hole b/c we were smart to get the rider insurance. and he's acting as if it wasn't insured and like that money is down the pipes. it's not.

so here's my tantrum ... i know i suck for losing them. and it'll never happen again. but i want my ring replaced just like it was before AND i still want my Hawaii trip! maybe i'm a brat for that.

Re: oh no he didn't

  • DH Fail No

I don't think you're being a brat. People make mistakes. It's not like this has happened before and they're insured.

  • Maybe he needs to be taught a lesson.  Does he ever take his ring off?  If so, I'd hide that sucker as sure as I'm sitting here and let him eat some humble pie when he tells you that he can't find it.

    But I'm a little evil...Devil

Ditto, it's all part of being human, we mess up!!! that's what insurance is for  :)  Tell DH to shut his pie hole.

  • here's the thing: If you had to pay out the same amount of money as before to replace them and it wasn't in the budget, maybe I could see him saying go CZ or avoid Hawaii. However, since you have paid for the insurance and they will be replaced by money not out of yoru budget, I think he is out of line.

He needs to pull his foot out of his mouth and his dik out of his arse.

  • Fail. . .I'd pull the no sex card. . but I too can be evil.

We're human and we make mistakes. At least you were smart in advance and thought of what 'could' happen when you got insurance. You guys were prepared for this.

He's out of line, straight up.

he did lose it once. he left it in a hotel room and was lucky enough to get it back even AFTER the cleaning lady came through.

    ::gasp::

I'd totally remind him of this. What a little punk!

  • I say go to Hawaii with a bestie instead. :)
  • Also, you're his wife, not his daughter.  He doesn't need to reprimand you like a child.  Kick him in the crotch!

    Okay...I might be a bit hormonal...Embarrassed

  • ohhhh that would piss me off soooo bad!

and what! he's even almost lost it before! Hes being a jerk and he deserves to be called out

and seriously what lesson does the Hawaii thing teach? nothing you're both adults! thats why you have insurance!

    lol

  • Surprise <---- one more b/c I don't think we use this emoticon enough and it totally belongs in this post.
  • This is what insurance is for, you've been doling out "x" amount of money for the insurance, it's now time to cash in and use it!  I see no problem with wanting to get new rings and a Hawaiian vacation.

  • Um, no way. You = not a brat. DH = douche. Hope he realizes how ridiculous he is being and apologizes!
  • we sure got into it over this last night when i got home. we didn't resolve anything, but at least we're not still arguing over it right now. i'm plannign to file the insurance claim today. and its not until October that we're talking about Hawaii (which we won't be going all out luxury anyways). so i think the dust will settle since there's plenty of time in between. i'm not backing down on this. and besides, i've already saved enough (thank you wachovia waytosave account!) for my own damn plane ticket!

Yes Hope he thinks over everything you said and comes to his senses!

  • That sucks katie!  I hope he comes to his senses and realizes that everyone makes mistakes.  It's not his job to punish you for it.  I'm sure you've beaten yourself up about it enough :(  Good luck with getting it resolved.

You definitely shouldn't back down on this. You made a mistake, it sucks, but your insurance is covering it. That's what insurance is for, and you guys were smart enough to get it. Your DH is the one being the brat. If he's still fussing at you when it comes time to book your Hawaii trip, just tell him you'll send him a postcard...
