For the Mommies/Expectant Mommies

What baby monitor did you get/are you getting?  Most things have been fairly easy to decide on with research, but for whatever reason this one has not been easy for us.

We've ruled out a video monitor- we've got a 1500 sqft single story home, so we can get into the bedroom in the amount of time it would take to check out the situation on the video, plus we think they are really pricey.

Re: For the Mommies/Expectant Mommies

  • We LOVE our Angelcare Deluxe Movement Monitor, the piece of mind is completely worth the price tag.

For traveling we have the Sony BabyCall and like that as well.

  • We don't use one now (1200 sqft apt - we hear it all), but I am interested to hear (for when we move).

  • Everyone that I know LOVES this one.  It is the one that I plan on buying when we have our little one.
  • We're splurging on the video monitor (Summer is the mfr, I believe)...our place is comparable to yours size-wise, but I like the idea of seeing the baby and being able to determine when she's actually awake, v. just making sleepy noises.

ETA: 2 of our couple-friends have the Summer video monitor, and swear by it.

  • Thanks gals!  We are seriously looking at the Angelcare monitor, it is a top contender for us.

I know I could ask on the bump, but I'd rather hear from my trusty Novembies than get 100 opinons from people I don't really know.

  • Hey!  I have been anti social for a while, so I am playing catch up trying to get back into the real world.  Anyway, we got a Summer monitor with the handheld video receiver.  Although we don' t have that big of a house, I also wanted to be able to "see" what she was doing and if I really needed to go in there, and I really wanted it for the summer when we spend a lot of time in the back yard. We have played with it a few times and I love it.
