I have the strangest fear of strawberries. First off, I don't like them that much to begin with. I am the last person who will be like "Yum, I could go for some strawberries!" No no no. When I do eat them I only eat them whole, or nicely sliced up.
My fear of strawberries comes out when I eat something that is made from strawberries, for instance: strawberry jam, & strawberry yogurt.
I hate the mushy, mashed, snotty little strawberries in jams and yogurts. They freak me out & gross me out so much! lol.
Who else has weird fears like this? I know there are more out there. Like my husband who doesn't like to each meat off of a bone, so any chicken we cook at home is boneless.
Re: strange "fears"
I love this about strawberry yogurt, I'm eating one right now! Send your unwanted strawberry boogers my way!
I absolutely despise sausage...........sausage of any kind. Those little white chunks of god knows what are just disgusting and the thought of them just turns my stomach. Unfortunately DH loves sausage and if he chooses to get it on pizza we have to order our own pizza'a because I can't have the sausage or sausage juices contaminating mine.
I thought my friend Stephanie was the only one w/ strawberry fear--she thinks they look like an old man's nose & refuses to eat them, LMAO!!
I love strawberries but I can't take those little "strawberry pieces" in anything either!
I do REALLY REALLY REALLY hate styrofoam. I can't look at it, touch it, or hear it. Ick!
I have to say... I think I'm the queen of random fears. I can TOTALLY agree with the no meat from a bone issue. Sick. Chicken wings gross me out to no end. Along those lines, I'm super weird about eating meat in general. For example, if I'm eating a yummy burger and someone so mentions a cow... I'm done. This actually happens a TON to me! I'll be one or two bites in, and it's all over... Same goes for any animal product.
My strangest non-food fear involves the blinds - the kind of blinds that can be adjusted either up or down. I have a severe need to have the blinds going in the upward position because I think that the aliens and gunmen are less likely to see you that way.
I could write a book on odd fears. Thanks for this post
I feel better knowing other's fears as well!
That's right, Tammy! We are both afraid of balloons. I had to do an intake with a moderately mentally retarded 18 year old who brought a yellow balloon with her and the whole intake I was acting so crazy and jumpy every time the balloon moved. My supervisor came in to observe and didn't know my fear. After the intake she was like WTF is wrong with you? haha.
