MuttCam Day!

The boys are at Doggie Daycare today, and I know some of you enjoyed watching online last time so I'm sharing the link again.

Re: MuttCam Day!

  • I totally just bookmarked that website for when we move out there.

If you don't mind my asking, how much is it per day?

  • We're actually getting ready to try another place. This place is nice, but it's really expensive. It's $35 per day, per dog -- so $70 per day when we take the boys. You do get discounts by purchasing packages though. I bought a 10-pack of daycare sessions that the dogs were allowed to share (so 5 sessions each), and that was $285.

There's another place nearby, Camp Diggity Dogs, that is $25 per day for the first dog and $15 per day for the second. Less for small dogs. That's $40 instead of $57 (the package price) or $70 per day! They have a swimming pool, cameras, etc also and aren't as crowded.

  • Bummer on the price.  That would totally not fit in our budget.  Its like $9/day here for boaring/day care so I'm in sticker shock right now.

How much is it for a plain old boaring per day, you know, without muttcam and swimming pools?  We board him at the vet here if we have to travel.

  • I'm not sure of every place, like local vets, etc. I didn't want them to have to be in a kennel all day (they're not at home) so it had to be some place that allowed free-roaming boarding. $25 per day is pretty cheap for here. These places just happen to include muttcam and swimming pools. I don't think I've ever seen anything as low as what you're describing. I couldn't even get a dog walker to come to the house for that cheap.

Mine only go once every two weeks, so that the gardener can have the entire lawn. In the past, if I've had to go out of town or something, I've arranged for a friend to stay at my house with the dogs. If I had to pay more frequently than what we do now, I wouldn't be able to do it...even then, it's a bit much!

  • C, I'm not happy about you changing over to the Diggity Dogs place. They only support IE browsers on a PC. I have a Mac at work! How will I be able to enjoy muttcam days?????!!!

  • Mames - I didn't tell you. Last night when I went to go pick the boys up, they were really hyper like always. Duh. I have a 1 yr old lab and a rescue that we've had just over 2 months -- not exactly the most well-trained combination. Normally, when I get home I ignore them until they settle down. You can't do that here though. They bring your dogs out to you, then you have hyper/jumpy dogs immediately leashed and expected to act and walk perfectly. It doesn't work with my two....especially since they feed off of each other's energy.

The owner, or manager, or whoever he was yelled at me and told me (based solely on those few moments, and not at all based on how they acted throughout the day) that I have bad dogs and that they need training. I was livid. If he'd have let me bring them out and calm them down one at a time like I asked, it would have been fine. I left and am not going back!

  • Oh noes, what a douche. That would be a tough transition to make as a dog.

Still... I can only muttcam from home in the evenings now. I hope nothing exciting happens before 2pm your time!

  • Yeah, he definitely just got irritated (understandably) and instead of handling himself well, he yelled at my dogs (and handled Chaz a little roughly...) and yelled at me. It was a moment where you could tell that he was just frustrated in general and my dogs being hyper put him over the edge. Still, it gave me one more reason to try out the new place.

Not to worry about the cameras, I'm sure we can find a server to host the viewing! I only saw that one of the large dog cameras requires IE. Maybe we can find a solution for the other one.
