The Help by Kathryn Stockett? I want to read it so bad and all 10 copies are either out or on hold at my library!
I know I could just buy it but it's only in hardcover and I kind of don't like to buy hardcovers b/c a.) they take up more space on my bookshelf and b.) they are not as easy to hold during my commute.
Re: Has anyone read
I haven't read that book, but I know exactly what you mean about hard backs! Plus they always seem to be more expensive, and I find that annoying.
Actually I really, really wish you could somehow order books online and have them spiral bound. That would make it so much easier for me to read them anytime, and read them while I'm on the treadmill/elliptical at the gym.
I really thought I wanted an e-reader, but I love books. I love holding them, I love how they smell, I love the creases that get in the binding. I don't know if I would really like a Kindle, Nook, or any other e-reader. Maybe in a couple of years when they are (hopefully) cheaper! Then we'll see.
My thoughts exactly!
I'm exactly the same way! I love books so much that my dream is to own a bookstore.
As for Natalie's question, I haven't read it either but I heard it's really good! I might cave in and buy the hardback soon.
That would be awesome! I anticipate finishing the book I'm reading now that Esther let me borrow tomorrow and then I have 2 others in line...The Soloist and The Lovely Bones. And of course, I can send it back to you once I'm through.
I definitely will. My mom just finished it and gave it to me. She liked it.
Will do! I'll let you know when I'm finished
Why would I make fun of you when I also absolutely LOVED Full House! Me and my bff at the time would write all the actors and actresses on the show letters asking for autographs...I have some vintage Mary Kate & Ashley autographs! My friend got a Kimmy Gibbler one too haha! John Stamos never sent us his
I'll have to add her book to my list. I just finished an ok memoir called The Liars Club by Mary Karr. I'd give it a 5.
That is AWESOME! Jodie's book is called 'Unsweetin'. I can send this one to you as well if you'd like.
Oh I had The Liars Club on my list too...but now that you say that, I won't waste my time.
That'd be double awesome of you, we're throwing around a lot of awesomes here! Have you read Swallow the Ocean or Map of the World? Those are 2 really good memoirs that I could let you borrow too.
Oh yeah, I just lent my mom The Crying Tree
Sarah - I LOVED The Lovely Bones, you have to give it another shot! I know a lot of people who said once they got past the beginning it was much easier to get through.
And man, I'm loving this thread... so many book recs!
I know absolutely nothing about Kindles, but what are the prices like for downloads?
No I haven't read those - but I would love to! Thanks
Yeah, book swap!
Sarah I was the same way. I couldn't get past the first chapter.
