Passport question

I need to get a passport ASAP - going to Europe for work the 2nd week of May.  Should I pay extra to get it expedited or will I be ok with normal processing speed?

Re: Passport question

  • Is this your first time applying for a passport or are you just renewing?  If it's your first time I would definitely get it expedited.

  • sort of...  I had one when I was younger but it expired when I was 18
  • I'm the kind of person who would expedite if needed it by a certain date, and the date was pretty soon.

Hmm...well I'm not sure what the procedure to renewing expired passports so just to be on the safe side I'd expedite it since it's only 5 weeks away.  Where are they having you travel to?

  • I would expedite it if it has to be processed as a first time passport because they won't guarantee it in any less than 6 weeks.  If it can be processed as a renewal you should be fine because you should have it by the end of the month.
  • I would expedite it...in theory your should be fine, but better safe than sorry. and if it was me I would also expense the renewal fee to my company 'cause I'm guessing that if you weren't traviling now for them your wouldn't be getting a passport anytime soon.
