We already knew this . . .

but Constance McMillen's classmates continue to belittle her on facebook.

It makes me want to cry. I was horribly teased and ostracized in middle school, but this is so far beyond that. I feel so bad for this girl.

Re: We already knew this . . .

  • Its just downright disgusting.  Makes me want to put JB in a bubble his or her whole life and protect him/her.

  • I can't get her out of my mind lately.  No one should have to suffer through torment like that.

I hope I raise Bebe to be kind-hearted and stand up for what is right . . . It would kill me if she ever thought it was ok to bully someone.

  • Ugh, I feel for this girl.  I was horribly teased/tormented my 7th grade year, it was awful.  Why do people feel the need to attack someone for being different?  I'm glad she does have some people on her side giving her encouragment to ignore the morons.

Make it high school for me.  I can count on one hand the friends that I had there.  That fb page that it's linked to, ugh some of those comments make me physically ill.  I guess I just don't get why you need to go out of your way to treat someone like that.

  • Sorry, but ignorance knows no latitude.<-----Big Smile

The whole thing sickens me.  The fact that there is way more to the story than any of us will really know bothers me, the treatment, the support from the parents, the administration. All of it.  I hope that everyone involved in this survives.  These are the sorts of things that make people do crazy unthinkable acts. I would hate for them all to be wearing blood on their hands at the end of it.  A little on the dramatic side I know, but I truly feel that this is how that deep down depressive state begins and it is only a matter of time before it spirals out of control.  I hope that they all find help.

Exactly. If I found out my kid was doing to taunting, I'd knock some serious sense into them. I don't understand why the parents are encouraging this behavior. It's disgusting to me. How would they feel if this was there child? Don't they want to raise good, conscious, and kind children?

My parents raised me to always think of others and treat them as I would want to be treated. I can't even imagine thinking this is ok.

  • After the fake prom update yesterday I had found this group. I am so glad it's been taken over by supporters instead of haters like it was meant. I feel so terrible she's going through this. I was picked on quite a but in middle school and high school and it was terrible (like you code, I could count on 1 hand the friends I had). But none of it compares to what she's going through.

I'm really hoping she pulls through this ok and nothing terrible happens like Karrey mentioned.

Also, here's some interesting pics of the prom without Constance.

Oh but they are.  They are all Christians and can spout out scripture. Confused

Yeah, there's the irony. I'm an atheist and apparently that makes me a godless sinner, especially since I believe in gay rights. And yet everyday I think about my choices and how I can become a better and more conscious person. These people need to worry less about other people and focus on themselves.
