Re: "Knock Off Wood" Project

  • Good for you!  Is it sturdy enough to be a bench?
  • Awesome job!  I too have been stalking that blog and have some good ideas for projects AFTER we remodel.  I think DH would kill me if I started something before we did that.

It's a bench (because that's what the title said in her plans) and it's sturdy enough to hold my plants, so good enough for me! Big Smile

:)  I meant a people bench.  It looks great with your flowers!  I was just curious whether it would hold two adults.

  • Oh I don't plan on sitting on that thing....lol...Stick out tongue
  • I just saw that on your blog! It looks awesome! Was it as easy as it appeared? I love the Knock Off Wood blog, and I'm constantly bugging DH to help me make something (I would end up missing a digit if I tried to do it myself) but he keeps saying that "it's not as easy as it looks!" So when I saw your post, I immediately sent it to him :-)

  • Shame on you for not wearing shoes!  Other than that, great job!

It's easy as in I had DH there to help me and put clamps where they need to be and he can "one hand" the saw while holding the wood with his other hand...he builds model airplanes etc so he is really comfortable building things and using sharp objects.  But the directions she gave and the assembly (using nails) was easy...I thought. DH never complained or said "this doesn't make sense".  Dana (dvshaw) has built a few items, I was def. ask her what she thinks!

I dislike shoes just as much...in fact, I'm usually barefoot in my office.  Living on the edge...yeah, that's what that was.

  • Super cute bench friend!  Great work!  I wish my DH and I were handy.  We don't even own a saw.

  • Wow, that looks great, Kristina!

I'm totally in awe of people who can build things like that. I'm with Nicole- we don't even own a saw...

  • I love it! It looks great! And it sounds like I've created some monsters...
