I'm back.....

It actually went worse than I was thinking.  I'll update the blog later because it is a mumbo jumbo of technical terms.

Bad news? Basically, my tubes are sh!t and we have to wait a minimum of 8 weeks until all of our testing is done before we can even come up with a plan.  I was hoping to at least be able to try on our own the next cycle or two but no, he wont let us. I trust that he knows what he is doing but the timeline doesn't make me very happy.  His course of action is the best I have ever heard of or seen though.  I know many women who get half way into cycles without genetic testing and karyotyping much less testing husbands.  Dr. D is incredible.

Good news? Yes. Everything they removed was biopsied and it is all benign. Woot Woot.

Best part of the day? While I was there, a girl gradutated.  For those that aren't familiar with the process...Pregnancies through an RE are heavily monitored. Once you get to a certain point (usually about 10 weeks) with a healthy pregnancy, you graduate and are directed to the care of a normal OB/GYN.  Today was her graduation day, with twins no less.  The whole office was in tears and hugged and cried with her, her husband, and her mom.  From the lady at the front desk, to Dr. D himself.  It was so moving and encouraging to know that this is what those people live for.

Other best part of the day?  For once, D had to get stuck too because we had to do 3 additional tests per Dr. D's request.  I clapped when she delivered the news.  She laughed and said that they don't run those tests often but whenever they do, the woman is always excited about the man having to get poked.

It made me giggle.

He almost cried.

That made me giggle even more. Big Smile

Thanks for the well wishes ladies.....

Re: I'm back.....

  • IMO your good news is GREAT news!!!!

I know that 8 weeks seems like forever when you are TTC, but hopefully it will go by faster than you anticipate!!

  • Your good news is definitely great news!  I'm so glad everything came back benign!  It sounds like your doctor's office is a great place to be.  I'm wishing you lots of luck, you're in my thoughts, sweetie.  We're here for you!!!

  • Sorry, I guess I should have clarified that the reason I am calling it "good" news instead of "great" news is that there was never really any reason to suspect that it would be anything but benign.  Yes, we are thrilled that it came back that way but we pretty much already knew it would so it wasn't really anything to be doing back flips over.
  • I'm sorry you have to wait 8 weeks, but Dr. D really sounds like he is on the ball.  Glad D had to be poked finally!

  • So, I definitely teared up reading about the other girl graduating. Karrey, I know that's going to be you soon! You've waited so long, and it's totally not fair, but you handle it with a great attitude and patience that I could never have. I can't wait until it is your turn, and I'm so glad your doc is being super proactive.
  • I'm glad you're getting new answers, but that's so frustrating you have to wait 8 weeks. I'm glad you have such a wonderful, involved, and supportive doctor's office. It's so amazing when you feel like you can trust a doctor and know that he/she will not rest until they find an answer for you. I'll keep crossing my fingers for you, lady. You're getting there.

  • We'll do our best to make these next 8 weeks fly by for you. I'm glad the rest all good/great news.

    OMG-THIS!!! Most definitely!!!

  • I want to snuggle you and tell you it'll be all right. Of course, I can't know that, and I'm sure you're sick of hearing "somedays" - so I hate to use it - but someday you're going to be like the best mommy ever. Until then, you've got a crowd of Novembies rooting for you and hoping that it'll be your turn - SOON. Sounds like you found the right fit for a doctor's office and hopefully its the beginning of the journey now.

    This!

Lots of hugs (I have a reputation at work for having the best hugs, so they'll be some awesome hugs). The 8 weeks is super crappy, but as other pp have said, we're here for you to vent or cry to or just be shoulders to lean upon. Or hug and offer wine :-)

  • This doctor seems to be exactly what you needed.  The 8 weeks will be hard to wait but I hope we can distract you some to help that along.

  • Your good new is awesome!  So glad to hear that everything was benign.

I know eight weeks is a long time to wait especially for something you have already been waiting for for an eternity but at least you have a doc who you trust completely and who knows what is going on with your body.  Hopefully the eight weeks flys by.

I'm also glad you got to see someone "graduate", what a happy ending.
