Sad face

They might cancel our mom and tot swim class due to low enrollment. I'm mega bummed. I suppose I could just get a pool pass in a month or two but it sounded like a fun class. I'm going to try to convince some if the daycare parents to go - they need at least 3 more mom/tot combos.

Re: Sad face

  • oh no!  I hope you can convince some more mom/tot combos to join because the class sounds like it would be super fun for you an Hunter.

  • Oh no!! Crossing fingers for you to convince some more mom/tot's to join. I think the class would be fun, plus I'm really big on teaching children about water and swimming at a young age (living in a state surrounded by water on three sides with lots of retention ponds, rives, lakes, and swimming pools will do that to ya).

This!  My sis and I learned to swim when we were super young-I think 18 mos or earlier.... and I am very fortunate for that.  I hope they can get 3 more sets of mom/tots!

Neither J and I are swimmers at all - I took lessons but was always afraid to go to the deep end and J just never did it.  We both really want to get him in the pool since he LOVES the water and cries when bath time is over some nights.  We're hoping he's just a born water baby!

  • I remember hearing stories of my sister going off the diving board (not diving, just jumping in) and my Granny came to see her do it.  My Granny was freaking out, but sis just jumped in and swam over to the lady at the Y...  Mom didn't want us to fear the water like she did.
  • Oh I hope you can find more peeps.  Like pp said, I live in a state that has LOTS and lots of water and know how important it is for a child to know how to swim.  The younger the better.  A friend of mine had her baby in a baby tadpool class at 2 months.  If not, hopefully there is something else around that you can sign up for.
  • I'm always blown away when I meet people who can't swim, but then again I was born in coastal Maine and my neighborhood had it's own beach growing up. We swam like fish from very early on and it's so important. Plus my mom quickly figured out that it also exhausts your child much quicker than regular playing. This was very important with three kids under 4.
  • Swimming AND bike riding... two big skills!
  • Good luck with the daycare moms -- hopefully you can get them to join your class!
  • That stinks!  Hopefully some more moms will join up!

  • Thumbs up to you for enrolling Hunter in swim lessons so early! As a former swim instructor who taught babies all the way up to 20-year olds who had never had lessons, that's the way to go!Yes Here's hoping you can find a class.
