anyone buy the iPad?

I didn't...while I love all things Apple, it just isn't in my budget! My friend who is a complete Apple geek (and Apple I.T. guy) did buy it & can't stop raving about it. Just curious if anyone else feels the same...

I'd soooooo love one, but already have an iPhone, MacBook Pro, and Kindle. I can't figure out why I'd need this, too (except that it would kind of replace one or two of these). Maybe in a year or so......

Technically, no...but I just won the 16gb iPad in a raffle at work last week. I'm actually thinking about selling it so I can use the money to buy baby stuff. I used our work one (my company got 3 for development/prototyping use, so I left mine unopened so I can sell it as brand new) a bit and it's really just like a big iPhone and it's nice but I unfortunately don't like Apple stuff very much and have never bought anything Apple except for iTune songs to support the artist I like (I also won my iPod in a raffle at a conference) so I don't really feel like it's worth keeping it to me, especially with all the baby expenses to come.

Nope. Didn't buy one, way out of the budget right now since I am only working less-than-part-time (not by choice). DH really, really wants one though. First time I've seen him excited about a new gadget. Most times he can take it or leave the latest new thing, but he can't stop talking about the iPad. Go figure.

Inamra, that is some crazy luck you have! You definitely need to play the lottery often! Maybe I should send you a few $$ just so you can buy mine! Maybe your luck would wear off onto my tix!

Well, I'm not THAT lucky. For me, good and bad things come together. If you saw the weekly mamas check-in, we got hit by an uninsured driver the day after I won the iPad. Not only do we had to go to ER (L&D) = hefty bill, to get the baby checked up, we have a banged up car to fix. So I think we definitely need the $ from selling that iPad.

MH, the person who always talks trash about Apple and Macs, is drooling over this new toy. Days before it was released, he would remind me that it was coming out in x-number of days. The day it was released, he said, 'I might stop by the Apple store just to see how long the line is...' Now he's telling me stuff like, 'Don't you want one?' Meh, I'm happy enough with my iPhone and the iPad would just be a really really expensive toy that we don't really need. I told him he could get one if we had any money left over after buying all the baby stuff we need. Stick out tongue
