Got my internship placement! Anyone drive on 95 every day?
I was hoping to be placed at Boston Medical Center since that's where I've done my practicum and I really like the hospital but apparently they don't like to place us the same site for both...so I'm going to Beverly Hospital for my Dietetic Internship. I don't really know anything about the hospital and I guess it's good that I'll have connections at 2 hospitals now but I'm dreading having to drive from Woburn/Reading every day. Anyone take 95 every day? How is the traffic? I'll be taking 95 N in the mornings and 95 S to get home but I'm hoping that my early hours will help me avoid some of the traffic!
Re: Got my internship placement! Anyone drive on 95 every day?
Congrats! My good friend is halfway done with her internship at BWH. It's intense and because of rotations, her schedule changes frequently.
You should be fine-- 95S gets backed up randomly in the evenings but I think you should be ok- especially since you are in Woburn/ Reading.
It's actually a little faster for me to take back roads than to get on from 93 so I'll probably do that. And my hours will likely be 7-3 or 6-2 so hopefully I can avoid some of the traffic!
Mesa- how did your friend like the Brigham? That was my second choice when I applied last year but I hear its a lot of work! It's a long program too- I'm so excited mine is only 29 weeks!

Sooooooooooo much work! She's crazed all the time... and she never knows her schedule and they are pretty strict. I think she likes it but it's hard to tell. I think you get an amazing amount of exposure and experience though. She also has a lot more background and education than most of the dieticians... she has her MPH and has a lot of research and teaching experience.
The interns at my hospital don't seem nearly as worked or as much responsibilities as my friend... I think BWH has the toughest program.
I second JCam (went to the same school). 128 is horrible but you should be ok with missing the really bad traffic.
I also second that Beverly Hospital is a great hospital to be working; I was born there.
