DH suggested we drive up to the Finger Lakes to have dinner in the castle where he proposed. But since we'll be pretty house poor, I'm voting for Chinese take out and a movie from RedBox.
I suppose I should start thinking of a gift. I already did b-pics, which would have made a good gift, since it's paper.

No clue what we are going to do. I'm having a hard time coming up with something for paper...besides a card. I don't know if we are going to go out of town since we're already taking quite a few trips this year.
I'm in the same boat. Have no idea what to do.
His mom got us a weekend away (5/21 - 5/23), in Atlantic City....
But were in the process of paying off debt/saving - so no real trips.
As far as the whole paper thing goes, I have no idea.

Alex has been hinting at about a secret trip, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I've been itching to go back to Palmilla (and dropping not-so-subtle hints) because it has been all over the pages of US Weekly lately. Sigh. I just want to enjoy it and relax this time!
As for a paper present, I'm getting Alex a genographic kit to trace his lineage. He knows that his mum is French and his dad is Jewish, but other than that he is clueless about his heritage. My family tree traces back to the 1600s, so I thought it would be a cool present... plus our future spawn will actually know what they are. Bonus.
I survived the RoLex wedding and all I got was this lousy husband.

For paper, I'm considering making a MyPublisher photo album of our honeymoon pictures. We never got around to doing something with them.
Paper could also be:
concert/movie/event tickets
plane/cruise/travel tickets
framing a significant piece of paper (diploma, monogram wall art, concert poster)
paper related to a new house (the title, return address labels, house announcements)
a book (Bible, book of interest in your relationship, a rare edition of a favorite book)

We're planning a big road trip to Chicago in early August, I think that will be a late Anniversary gift to eachother... We're going to go to Lollapalooza and visit his bro who lives out there, as well as hitting up some other cool stuff along the way.
For the actual anniversary date, I think we're printing albums of our wedding and honeymoon... bc nope, we haven't done that yet (gasp!) So maybe my goal will be to finish those by our anniversary as our "paper gifts". With the new house and upcoming vacay, I don't think we'll want to spend much $$ on gifts. Plus we aren't the keepsake type anyway.
We're going to Bermuda for our 1 year anniversary. I haven't thought of a paper gift, so maybe the tickets for the trip will count as our paper gift.
I'd secretly love to do b-pics for him and use that as a paper gift, but I'd have to get my act together really fast to lose a little weight and tone up and schedule them before June.
Honestly, the best gift would be for us to be able to spend it together. Doesn't matter if its here, in San Diego, or on a spectacular vacation. Most likely we'll be on opposite coasts that day, so I'm not holding my breath.
I don't see us doing much of anything. We're working really hard to pay down our debts because I'll likely be out of work for a while with the relocating and because we'd like to TTC soon. Fun things like vacations and fancy presents are taking a back seat for a while.

Well i found out part of a surprise today.. David told me. We werent very satisfied with our wedding pictures.. some were great, other were down right horrible.. we only came out with 1 good picture of david and i, so here in a few weeks we have a 4 hour time slot for doing trash the dress pictures! I am SO super excited about it...
And then for our actual anniversary we are planning a small weekend trip! very excited about both!
We're going to St. Louis (I'm pretty sure) for a 3 day weekend. My sister's wedding is the week before in Texas and I was in Austin, he was in Vegas this weekend and we are going to the beach in August so we needed to do something low key but didnt want to stay home either. I'm going to get him tickets to a Cardinals game as a paper gift. Not sure what else we will do.
I'm already looking forward to our 2nd anniversary since we'll be spending it in Jamaica due to my cousins destination wedding.
