Need ideas on where to go
Dh and I are taking a night away. We have a sitter for a friday night then saturday (all day). We live in Modesto. Any Ideas of where to go.

Not sure exactly where Modesto is, but is half moon bay too far?
Monterey is beautiful this time of year. Is this for next weekend? I think next weekend is the last weekend of the RENN faire in gilroy.
We are not sure yet what weekend we are going.
I dont know where half moon bay is but Im sure its to far.

. Monterey is the closest beach to Merced. (I grew up in Merced)
Are you in the moon for beaches? Mountains? Golf?

Half Moon Bay is a little south of San Francisco. If SF is close enough, Half Moon Bay wouldn't really be any further.
If you want to do Yosemite, there's a place DH and I stayed at once a few years ago, that we really like. It's just outside the park, on the road to Hetch Hetchy. It's called the Evergreen Lodge.
You could also go up to Sonora, or maybe to Santa Cruz (which is a little closer than Monterey or Carmel, which are also great places to go for a weekend).
