Canadian moral dilema
Roll up the rim etiquette:
If someone bought you a coffee and you rolled up and won something what would you do?
What if it was a coffee or donut vs. a big prize?
What if they didn't know or see you roll it up?
What would you expect if you were the one who bought someone else a coffee and they won the 10 grand or car?
I haven't won squat but my Dad brought me a mocha and I was thinking what would I do if I'd won something.

If it was a coffee or doughnut I would do the same as danielle....keep it and buy the friend a coffee later on as a thank you in the first place. I'd probably buy them a coffee regardless of if I won anyways though. If it was something bigger I would split it cause guilt would eat me alive!

Honestly if I had gone home with the coffee and rolled it up at a later time my answer maaaay be different. I would still buy them the coffee as a friendship gesture later but I don't know if I'd be so quick to split as before...oh wow I'm an awful person for even potentially thinking like that?

I would fully expect them to keep it, however I may hint hint that if they go on a vacay with the coin I want in! haha
Btw. I won a coffee but DH hasn't won squat and he hasn't missed a day...brutal. Oh and if it was my dad who bought me the winning cup he would definitely say "keep the prize!" and I'd buy him something nice later.
This is almost exactly what I would do. Except if it was my dad who bought me the coffee and I won the car, I would give him the car. DH and I have two new cars and my parents need a new one. I would give them the car.
I'll answer my own poll.
When I was working still Tims runs were a daily thing and we had a rule that it would be split between the person who rolled up and who ever paid for that round if it was a big prize all donuts/coffees belonged to the roller.
If it was a friend outside of work I think I'd do the same thing. While I wouldn't expect to be shared with if I bought the coffee for a friend I would hope they would.
I am 90% sure I would pipe up and share and not keep my mouth shut but who knows for sure
