  We have a Kenmore front load washer and dryer and really like them...very energy efficient (lots of settings to choose from for that) and uses little water.  (We did just have an issue with the washer, but got it fixed and now everything's fine, plus both machines are around 7 years old).

  I would NOT recommend ours.  They're Maytags.  They suck. They were cheap though!

  We have fairly basic Kenmore models from Sears. The washer is top loading.  So far we've been very happy with them.

  We have Kenmore front loading washer and dryer.  Love them.  We had a problem with the washer, totally my fault, but they were still under warrinty.  Sears came out and fixed the problem the next day.

  I think that we have the cheapest models available.  Both top loading.  I think that DH paid $250 for the washer five years ago and we just replaced the dryer for $300 at Best Buy (the original dryer went out of five years).  They have no bells and whistles (the dryer drys on two settings, hot and warm, if I need cool, I line dry), but they get the job done.
