I practically feel like I'm not allowed to write this post, I'm so behind in reading the current ones!
But just wanted to see how everyone's week was and how your weekend is going.
Anyone see any good movies? go to exhibits? whatever.
I am feeling a lot better since the doctor took me off the Abilify, which was supposed to help the Prozac work better, but instead was making me anxious a lot of the time and making me always want to shake my leg, and just have general restlessness (they're common side effects).
Now I'm not even taking the anti-anxiety med that she prescribed, probably only because how Abilify was working on me.
I've joined a new church and feel for the first time the beginnings of a good IRL community around me since the divorce 4 years ago. And we just went to a West side Couples meetup group (you know, meetup.com) for a game night last night. It was pretty fun.
The best news... just kidding, is that I had to splurge and buy these beautiful shoes. They have Nike air technology in the them and they don't really hurt that much (ha ha... I'm going to get them stretched so that they really don't hurt). Hope everyone is well!
Re: Weekly Check In
the pic at the top of this page does the shoes better justice. 2nd ones from the left.

Ah! Those shoes are killer! Keep me posted on the comfort level - I suck at rocking the heels.
Aside from not getting fired yet (whee!), I've been fighting off the second cold in as many weeks. I think I seriously need to go see a doctor about my crappy immune system.
I'M glad you've found an IRL community that's supportive! I often wish my husband and I would join a church, but he's an atheist (and I'm a theologically challenged Christian) so it makes going a bit difficult.
Oh, and I have 11 more Mondays until I'm off for the summer! Not that I'm on a count down or anything...

I feel the same way....except MH is Jewish, and I'm the "theologically challenged Christian (love that phrase, Alyson!) It's great that you have found a community to fit in to, Jen.
I had a pretty good week. First week back after spring break. This coming week will be really busy for me. I have my Spring Chorus Concert to direct on Thursday (which includes two long after-school rehearsals beforehand), then I have to work all day Saturday at my district solo/ensemble contest. Once this week's done, though, I'll only have 7 more weeks of the school year, and they'll be a breeze!
MH and I signed up for childbirth class and a tour of the hospital this week.....I'm very excited for that! It's a four-week class in May, and we're hoping to meet other couples like us during the class, as neither one of us has many friends in the area.
I'm proud of myself this morning for accomplishing all of my goals for today (laundry, dishes, and clean the master bathroom) by 10am.....now I can relax!
Have you ladies ever visited a Universalist Unitarian Church? Sounds like it may be right up your alley...J and I attend one here in Tulsa (the largest one in the US...ironic since we are in the belt buckle of the bible belt!) We went today, actually, and it was awesome!
We are looking to find some community here now that we've been here two years (we NEED to have a group of friends...right now we pretty much only have acquaintence via work but not folks we hang out with, etc.) so we've committed to going back to church now that Libby is here. We want her to grow up in as a diverse a community as possible (which is a challenge to find here) and this church is the only one we've found that accepts all ideologies, cultures, orientations, etc. Anyway, I've been to all sorts of churches in my day and this one for us, is the best "fit" right now.

Ooooh, nice shoes! Even if it didn't have the Nike Air technology, the platform makes it look like it'd still be pretty comfortable to wear!
Aside from celebrating my birthday on Friday, this weekend has been pretty uneventful. I didn't get to see John much yesterday since he was at work for most of the day and then had an event to go to at night. Today, he was gone for most of the day for a photo-related gtg at the beach. I got some work done here at home and napped. I know, sooo exciting, lol!
I had a very busy weekend! We technically moved into our new house...I say technically b/c the plumber couldn't finish the hot water heater on Friday so we had no hot water. We already had the UHaul booked so we just moved all of our stuff & stayed at the old house (with a mattress & boxspring...and hotwater). They keep saying they will be done by today, but I will believe it when I see it!
And Saturday night, we had tickets to Wicked. Bad timing, but DH had bought these tickets for me as an anniversary present months ago so after moving all day, we had to shower & head back to the city for the show. It was really good. Anyone else saw it yet?
I've seen it five times.....I love it!!!
haha, i've only seen it twice, but i LOVE it too!!
love the shoes too, jen. i'm so glad you're feeling better and found a church and RL community that works for you - that's so important.
my weekend was okay - studied a lot for a class i'm taking, then packed and got on a plane for 9 hours. in europe for a week for work, which would be more fun if there wasn't so much work involved.
still jet-lagged.
we had the in laws come visit for Easter and they stayed the whole week following...just went home yesterday. i thought it'd be a nice break to have someone help me w/miss A but really it was kind of stressful having to deal with both them and her. i am glad to have things back to normal again now.
