that's it, I'm moving into a bubble

Sometime between 2-10am, someone broke into DH's car and stole his GPS. Broke out his whole passenger window. We spent 2 hours cleaning glass out of every crevice and putting up the classic trash bag in the window. Granted, it was dumb of him to leave it on the dash (he usually puts it in the console/brings it into the house). The cop told us there were 900 stolen last year and that sometimes if you just have the holder on your dash, they'll break in to look for the gps! He looooved that thing and is so bummed! Insurance will pay for the window. We just can't really afford a new gps right now, that was what he bought with bday money in nov. We have the worst luck, I'm always asking myself "what's next?!"

  • I'm sorry.  That happeded to us in january.  DH lost 2 laptops and a bunch of computer equipment in a "smash & grab" buy his work.

Depending on the value of the GPS you might be able to claim it on your homeowners/renters insurance...if your deductible isn't too high.

  • Sorry to hear about the break in!  If you do decide to purchase a new GPS in the future, you can probably get it covered in a personal articles policy under your car/home insurance.  We insured our rings, my camera and laptop, and a couple other items, and it is like $18 a year for the extra coverage.
  • That just stinks! I'm very sorry to hear!

We got a refurbished GPS the other year-that way we didn't have to pay $$$ for one.  I'd be lost w/out it.  Hope you get one soon!

  • Wow, that freaking sucks! I always yell at DH for leaving the holder on the window. This only reaffirms my thoughts about ti being stolen. Sorry you are out a gps now =/. Hope your luck turns around soon!
