At the time it was so not funny, b.c injury was inflicted on both parties. Now that it is over I (we) can look back and laugh.
As you all know I am already broken and am cast ridden for the next 2 weeks - with a walking boot to follow. I use a wheelchair to get around the house - so much easier than crutches b.c I can use both hands. Anyways - it was a nice warm day outside and I love having windows open as does Boots (our cat). So up the window goes and up goes Boots to lay in the window. I proceed to wheel myself in the kitchen to put up some dishes from the night before when I hear a god awful crash of the window coming down and the blood curdling scream of a cat in pain. Instead of using the wheelchair (it wasnt moving fast enough) I hopped with all my might to the source of the cry. OMG there Boots is flaying from side to side with only his paw in the window. I start screaming OH GOD OH GOD and the cat is wailing terribly. I go to open the window, but what does Boots do? He latches onto my arm to where I then get the worse cat bite I have ever had in my life. I had to pop him on the head to let me go, and when I did - I fell down. Remember NO WEIGHT on this bad leg. So some how I jump up and get the window open and then Boots leaves the room screaming. I automatically grab peroxide and alcohol to clean my wounds and then go check on Boots who is now under our bed. He of course growls at me, but I see no blood - to which I am thankful for.
3 hours later - I am still bleeding. My DH was at work so I had to manuever myself out of the house, into the car and off to the doctors office I go for a tetnus shot and bandages. When DH got home, Boots had started bleeding to here we go hauling @ss @ 5:30 in the afternoon to get my little boy checked out. His toes were broken and he had a cut that needed stitches as well.
When we picked him up from the vet - I had to laugh b.c not only does his Momma have a pink cast, but so does he. Now DH has not one but two broken p*ssy's to take care of. Thankfully Boots heals WAY quicker than me and now only has a soft bandage which will come off on Friday. Unfortunately for Mom she is going to be this way for another few months.
Re: Funny story - it just wasn't so funny at the time.
Oh wow! I can see that not being funny at the time, but I'm glad it all worked out
You should try to take a picture of your matching casts!
I seriously doubt it. When he hears the windows go up now he hauls @ss back to our bedroom. Poor fella is going to be afraid of the windows for a long time.
I keep forgetting to take pics - I will try to get DH to take one today. Peas in a pod is what we are!!
Oh Squeesh! I'm sorry to hear that about your furry boy! I too would have been panicked if that happend to our Shadow Boy! Glad you both are on the mend though. We definitely miss your stories!!
BTW, is that picture in your siggy actually you and your Boots?
I was wondering if anyone would ask that. No it isn't us, but its DAMN close. Same leg and the cat favors Boots a lot. I will get a pick taken so you guys can see the two hop-alongs!!
***Baby #3: BFP Mother
It IS funny now, but I can imagine it was really scary when it was actually happening.
I'm glad you both are going to be ok... and, hey, the bright side of this is that you two probably look so cute and chic with your matching casts!
