Giving notice this week . . .

. . . at my job. I'm trying to decide the best day to do it. I was going to do it today but I've decided Monday is too crazy. Maybe tomorrow? I want to do it on before the 15th.

I've heard you should fire people on Friday, but I'm not sure what day of the week you should give notice. Hmm.

Re: Giving notice this week . . .

  • Are you prepared for them to tell you to hit the road?

As odd as it may seem, sometimes that happens (this may not be the case for you).  If that is the case, then Thursday sounds like a good day.

  • Eh-make it Wednesday-then she can have all day Thursday, too!

Lots of luck to you! I know it's not the easiest thing to do even if you don't like your job.

I have heard of this happening, but I really doubt it will happen here. They need me to train someone how to do my job first. ;)

Plus, my coworker who was their other favorite employee gave months of notice and they were find with it. In fact, they appreciated it because we have long-term customers and it gave them time to tie up loose ends.

But I appreciate the warning. I only heard about companies doing that about a year ago.

  • Definitly set a date.  If I didnt I would keep chickening out and putting it off until the next day.  Good for you to leave, I know you have been very frustrated there.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • I'd say Wednesday or Thursday.  GL!

Yeah, my company has definitely just let people go when they go in to give their 2 weeks.  Tongue Tied

    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • If you're going to give it this week, I'd give it as soon as possible. Like you said, they will need to find a replacement and have you train him/her. So I'd just do it tomorrow since today is too busy.

This! I can only imagine how stressful this is for you. Good luck!
