Jeeze! Another one?

I am so annoyed with my body right now!  In addition to my ear lump thingy, I have had a white hard-ish bump on my the tip of my upper lip that I noticed started forming about a year or so.  I thought it was one of those pimples I get occassionally that never seem to come to a head and go away eventually.  It doesn't hurt and I didn't think anything of it until recently when I realized it's gotten bigger since our wedding 5 months ago.  And DH commented this weekend on it's size changing which made me kind of self conscious.  I guess it's not the "beauty mark" I convincing myself that it was - lol!

I called this morning to make an appointment with my dermatologist letting them know the symptoms and that I want it removed.  I'm scheduled for 8am on Wednesday.  I forgot that I am due for my routine skin cancer check so I called back to see if that can be done in the same appointment.  The assistant said "no because I already had to squeeze you in to get your biopsy done."  Ugh, really, another biopsy?  Can you please just zap it off and slap a little bandaid on it?

As DH said when I called him to let him know about this, I'm turning into "a real piece of work".  I'm sure everything will be fine, but it's annoying that all this is happening at the same time.  I guess that's what I get for ignoring my body for so long.  On the bright side at least when all this is over, I'll know all my lumps and bumps are taken care of :)

Re: Jeeze! Another one?

  • Anytime they remove something from you they are suppose to send it out for a biopsy, just so you know! :) It's not out of the ordinary at all.

My dad has had melanoma's twice. Wait - is that the correct terminology? Melanoma's? I don't know. At any rate, he's had them twice - so I go for routine check ups with my dermatologist also. Anytime she's removed something from me it always gets sent for a biopsy. She always says "I'm certain this is nothing, but we have to make sure." And it always nothing. Better safe than sorry!

  • That's what I'm thinking - probably not a biggie but better safe than sorry!  I almost have to laugh about it...two biopsies in two weeks time.  And you know, the thing I am more concerned about is missing work for these appointments.  Which is silly because my boss is so sweet and understanding!
  • I hope everything checks out ok for you!  You just reminded me of the same thing I have right now...I have a white hard bump right above my eye and I really need to get it checked but I can't imagine having a biopsy right on my eye lid!!

  • At least you're all over and keeping your derm busy, rather than ignoring!!  You are doing all the right things!! Keep it up!
  • Lots of healthy vibes to you!!
  • Oh no! Hopefully this one is nothing too!
