Any quilters/sewers here?
I'm making a quilt/play mat similar to this for my twin nieces' first bday.
I'm so excited, I've been trying to think of something to make that will get good use! Anyway, I'm not sure what fabric to use on the bottom? I'd like it to be durable/ok for outdoor use/washable, but I don't want it to be hard or heavy. The fabrics I'm using on the top are a mixture of flannel, minky, etc (soft & comfy). I'm not doing the 'raggy' edges. Maybe no-pill fleece? A darker colored flannel? Minky? Halp!
Re: fabric advice
Are you using any batting? If so I dont think the back fabric will matter much, that should keep it fairly durable. I would use a flannel or fleese though if it were me.
I would think a flannel would be good.
Are you getting your material on line or going to a store? I'd think the ladies at JoAnn's would be able to give some great advice or those here on 'crafts' board might.
GL!
