Anyone know anything about St. Louis?

We bought tickets to go visit Joe's best/boyfriend and his wife.  I'm super excited!

What's there to do?  We are going to a baseball game and possibly a riverboat cruise but other than that, we're wide open.

We're going in June if that helps at all.  TIA!

Re: Anyone know anything about St. Louis?

  • Well, first of all I know that it is like 6 hrs from me lol

I don't know much bc I've never been but they do have the big arch there and the budweiser plant or museum or something like that lol You can take a tour.

I think Elisa used to live there, so she'd prob be more help

    ahahhaha I <3 you Britt.

  • DH and I went a couple years ago, but all we really did was went to 3 Brewer games. :)  We wanted to go up in the Arch, but I guess you have to get tickets early or something.  They were all sold out when we went to try.  So I remember just walking around downtown for a while.  It was fun, but I'm probably  no help as we didn't do much other than go to baseball games and go out to eat.

  • growing up we had good friends in st. louis and my cousin lived there for a few years so we knew the area pretty well.

Go to the hill area there, there's some awesome restaurants that your friends should know (it's italian).  The spaghetti factory is downtown near the arch, great food, long wait.  Blueberry hill and Fitz's is also good, they make their own rootbeer at Fitz's, it's the best and located in the university area.

There's a giant amoco sign too.  Just saying.

Yes, there's a beer factory.  You can also go to Grants Farm which is a zoo/petting farm and they serve alchy with your ticket (or they used to at least!).  The arch (only if it's not too windy, otherwise they close it down), most of the time dinner and such will carry you for dinner and his boyfriend will know what to do!  Have fun!  The downtown area is pretty vacant on Sundays, eerily closed down, but lots of fun!

  • The Arch.....Budweiser is there and is a great tour. It's a great city!!!! I have been there a few times!
  • I went to grad school in St. Louis! I'm so excited you get to go. First, it's going to be freaking hot and humid. Second, check out the arch, go to Ted Drewes for some frozen custard, Forest Park is the biggest must do. It's a fantastic park with a zoo (free to get into), great gardens, some cool museums. The botanical gardens are also really cool. If you go to Forest Park, stop by my Alma Mater, Washington University which is across the street and say hi and take a pic in front of it for me. It's a beautiful school. I really miss living there and am dying to go back! Have fun!!!

Alicia! I didn't know you went to Wash U! You must be super smart! ;)

And Nami, def try to do the things Alicia mentioned.  She's right, though.  It is going to be super hot and humid!  I lived there from 1999 to 2006.

As for other things to do, check out the Central West End for some eclectic happeneings.  There is a local indy paper that is called the Riverfront Times.  It will have a list of all the stuff going on that week.  I think you can access it online as well.

The arch, the baseball game, see a show at the Muny, eat on The Hill, The Art Museum is pretty cool as is the city museum, see if there is a concert, maybe go to the casinos.

You can also see if your friends want to do a float trip on the river.  They are super super fun!
