we are taking the kids to the bronx zoo, where should we eat?

we are thinking about taking the kids to the bronx zoo on wednesday, are there any good kid friendly resturants in the area?

Re: we are taking the kids to the bronx zoo, where should we eat?

  • The food at the zoo is awful.  BUT, Arthur Avenue is a short walk away. (amazing center of Bronx Little Italy!!)  On a Wednesday afternoon, I'd say that any of the restaurants will be family friendly.  I like Umberto's clam house, and they do have kid coloring placemats/crayons, not to mention lobsters in the tank to look at.  (but not cheap)

  • I second Arthur Ave.

  • Another vote for Arthur Avenue!  However, if it's nice out you could also head over to City Island and have lunch outdoors.  I like either Lobster House or Portofino.
  • When we take my niece and nephew to the Zoo we always go to Arthur Avenue. Dominic's, Mario's,Pasquale's and Roberto's are some of my faves.

  • We go to the bronx zoo at least three times a year and always bring lunch.  There are table all over to sit and have a picnic lunch.

P.S. I would get there early on Wednesday. It's free to get in and gets really packed fast!!

  • i'd bring lunch to the zoo and then have dinner on arthur avenue (we liked mario's and it was definitely kid-friendly)
