f/u to being so so mad

i found out today that they're having zach TRAIN HIS REPLACEMENT!!!!!!! they knew 2 weeks ago they were going to have to let him go, so they looked for and found a replacement driver and are now having zach train this guy. i'm SO mad i can't even handle it. not to mention he's worked there on and off for the last 4 years (whenever they needed him, he was there) and they can't even offer him some sort of severance package... or a notice..... does that make any sense??!?!?!

Re: f/u to being so so mad

  • Ok, Im thinkin I missed something....why are they letting go to just replace him?
  • britt, it's about car insurance.. he is a driver for a construction supply company and they CAN insure him, but it would be at a higher rate than if they let him go. the big problem that i have with this is that he turned in his driving record before he started working there last june, and they approved him at the same rate and there hasn't been anything new on his driving record since then.

zach's boss found out about the insurance thing 2 weeks ago and so then he started looking for zach's replacement, but never mentioned it to zach until this past friday. so i guess his notice was 3 days.

I wish there was something you could do.  Is this even legal?  If there's no reason for his insurance rate to go up.  Did anyone explain why it might have gone up?
  • not that i know of, jenth... and unfortunately, colorado is an "at-will" state.. so both parties (employer and employee) can terminate the relationship at any time for any reason. it's just disappointing since these people have known zach for so long! :( i'm feeling a letter to the owner coming on... ha
