I need a vacation something awful, but since we won't get one out of state this year I think planning one for next year will make me feel better. I don't even know if DH will go for this, but I need to at least look.
So my question is, if you were to take a 4 night vacation somewhere (probably in Feb or early March) on a very limited budget where would you go? We're on the west coast so if it were a cruise we would probably go to Mexico.
Thanks ladies
ETA: What cruise line would be best if we wanted a relaxing trip w/o a bunch of drunk college students and not a lot of kids screaming and running all over?

Re: Vacation Question/poll
DH and I are going to Mexico for our anniversary. We have been there once together and I went right after graduation for a girl's weekend. I think it is the BEST vacation and it is REALLY affordable. We don't stay at a huge, fancy resort but the place we choose is nice, the people are awesome, it has an amazing pool, and beautiful beach area. What more could you ask for?
I know nothing about cruises =(
If you are going in Feb/March then you shouldn't have to worry about a lot drunk college kids or screaming little kids on any cruise line since there aren't any big holidays at that time (i.e.: Spring Break). Of course if you are looking at only 4 days then you would probably be looking at the same cruise that Shelli is going on for her wedding, and that cruise can be a bit of a party cruise since it's cheap & short (perfect for college kids).
What resort did you stay at? We don't need a huge fancy resort, we're not really that type of travelers.
As far as quiet cruise lines go, I think Princess would be a safe bet.
I haven't been to Vegas or Mexico (well, not the resort part of Mexico) but I'd like to go someday. I really need a vacation too, but we are trying to save up to go to Japan next Feb. I think I'm going to go crazy!

We stay at the Royal Solaris in Cancun. I have some pics on FB from our first trip there. It really is our go-to vaca.
For our June trip, I used a $200 coupon code through Orbitz and we were able to get a Sunday-Sunday trip for a little under 2K. That includes airfare from Ohio, food, drinks, etc. The only thing we will have to pay for is a $12 shuttle to and from the airport. Once you're there, you really don't need to leave the hotel unless you want to go out to the clubs. We typically don't.
When we were there before, we went to the more formal restaurants at night, had lunch by the ocean, got massages on the beach (the hotel has a spa), played poolside games and volleyball, and met tons of people. It was seriously a blast!
