Enter 8 am temper tantrum.
I received a call back from the lab about the email I sent last night asking them to not do the karyotyping. They weren't to proceed without my approval according to my doctor. Why I thought that was golden, I have no idea but now they are telling me that they have already started the first stages and I will be charged regardless. This is the most expensive of the three and has to be done on both me and D. A thousand dollars right there.
I foresee another meltdown in my near future.
My faith, patience, hope, and belief have been tested. This sucks.
Re: Enter 8 am temper tantrum.
I responded to your last post on the other thing...
Again, be strong-fight it... call your doctor, your insurance...
Um, yeah, that should be their problem then.
Talk to your doctors office, see if they have that request in writing.
I'm sorry, lady. WTF.
Gah, I feel like I am 4 years old and should have snot and boogies running all down my face. I called the lady back at the lab and she was VERY understanding and compassionate about the situation. Dr. D is a LONG time Dr. of theirs and she said she may be able to pull a favor. Called the VP and VP authorized to stop the karyotyping and eat the cost. My Dr's office mistake, not the lab. Mary (lady at Dr. D's office) had no reason or right to tell me what she did as holding samples isn't in their protocol. Which I thought was odd when she told me.
Anyway, we can have the karyotying done at an in-network lab and it wont cost us a penny. Saves us 1500 bucks. Phew!
Thanks for the support ladies! once again, you keep my back bone strong.
I'm so sorry you have to continue going through this crap. You don't need to pay for someone's incompetence. Maybe if you post the lab's phone number we could all give them a call and tell them what we think of this bullsh*t.
I wish I had better words of wisdom or a solution to make this all go away.
Stay strong.
Stay strong
This. I am so sorry about this.
THAT'S RIGHT. Otherwise there were going to be some novembie busting some knee caps. RESPECT.
(On a more realistic note, I am happy that things are looking a little bit up again.)

I'm glad they stopped the testing and are eating the cost, what a relief! Sorry you had to have such a sh!tty day yesterday with it all, but at least things are looking up now =D
